Same. All the other boss fights had been relatively tame, but this one was always unnerving as a kid.

bowser was pretty metal in this one, and Im pretty sure all of mario galaxy was based on that one boss where you ran around a small moon

but its not better than any other platformer, I think that SMW was better overall for it's time, even though it's fairly bland now

There's barely any momentum to your movement, it's slow, the transformation segments and autoscroller levels are even slower, and the bosses are all crammed in tiny rooms which don't allow for much actual platforming.

I'd say all it really has going for it is the egg throwing mechanic.
