Because online multiplayer games are usually more challenging and there is always something to grind. The other reason is that no matter how many adventure RPGs I play I will never relive those feelings of exploring some unknown world and going on an epic adventure.

you play what you're comfortable with especially if your time is short. I don't have a job so I managed to beat my backlog of over 450 games. Then I started pirating games and beating them too. Only downside is I can't post steamreviews of them now. Oh well, it's their loss if they don't wanna play ball and give me a key. I usually find that buyer's remorse sets in hard for most games these days. Most games just aren't worth the $60 they go for, let alone the maybe $30 you can get for them on sale.

Meanwhile, I tend to have more enjoyment out of the games I've pirated. I didn't have to worry about spending money on them, and I could just focus on the game instead of "this game is fun, but is it really worth $XX?"

Usually its just a small number of extremely rich kids who spends big money on these. Which is a good thing because they're the ones who keep these kind of games afloat.
