It was one of the few MMOs that actually had it's story directly progressing based on community input. In fact, possibly one of the only games to ever hold consistent developer-driven in-game events.

Shit sucks, man. There are so few modern day MMOs and even fewer with compelling narratives. The community in MXO was something fantastic, it really did feel like I was genuinely jacking into the matrix each time I logged in. Trench coats, gritty inner city landscapes and martial arts never felt so cool.
