>Linear design
This is not a bad thing
>>
>playing on Easy past the age of 6
>playing Life is Stupid, ever
>engaging in goodfaith discussions about Life is Stupid on the internet, ever

You're a fucking idiot if you defend any of these.
>>
Unskippable cutscenes
Tutorial in game
Regenerating health
references from the real world
memes
Autosave
>>
>>382458742
>>382458902
>>382458035
Literally none of this is inherently bad. Figures /v/ wouldn't know the first thing about game design.
>>
>>382458695
>playing on easy beyond age 6
What if I have to take care of my 6 year old but I find the story of this game interesting
>all that hatred for Life is Strange
Didn't play the game so I cannot agree or dissagree with you
>supporting vidya inc
Don't know if that is a legitimate company, or a refference to EA
>>
>>382458742
Get gud.

My list:

>Cheating.
>Peeking at hidden achievements.
>Using guides.
>Asking for help.
>Buying shovelware for the achievements.
>Watching people play or talk about video games.
>>
>>382458742
>>382459159

how in the fuck is unavoidable damage good? it literally induces a failure state for making no mistakes.

unskippable cutscenes are bad design, but maybe not bad "game" design. I mean, I guess cutscenes aren't actually a game... yea it just seems like shit design

RNG has good and bad implementation
Good: which attack a boss is going to do in megaman
Bad: Random Enemy casts death 5% hit chance and is unblock-able
>>
Story focused "game"
Graphics before gameplay
>>
VOICE ACTING
>>
Unskippable Cutscenes and Long Introductions
RNG
Unbalanced Difficulty, easy being too easy and hard being too hard
Memes and references to real events or people
Pandering and censorship
DLC
Multiplayer as an afterthought
>>
>>382459159
>Unskippable cutscenes
>Unavoidable damage
>acceptable ever

go fucking kill yourself whether you are trolling or not. yes im mad
>>
>>382459775
I guess we should remove all poison sections from every game because little baby here doesn't feel empowered enough when he takes damage.
>>
>>382459703
>hard being too hard

Name one action game. Go on. I'll wait.
>>
>>382459515
Hmmmm, well, I both agree and disagree with you there
>Cheating
Only if it's in an online game
>Peaking at hidden achievments
Here we both agree that is bull
>Using guides
Depends on the situation, if it's a scenario similar to PT, then I do not condone using guides, but if it's a game like skyrim, then fuckin no
>asking for help
Unless you are refering that someone play a level of a gamr in your stead, then I disagree
>buying shovelware for achievments
This. This so much
>watching people play or talk about videogames
I really so not see the problem with that, I found most of my favorote games like that
>>
>>382459938
Devil May Cry or any character action game.

Enemies hitting 3x harder doesn't make the game hard, it makes it bullshit.
>>
>>382459617
>Doom, Quake, Dark Souls and Duke Nukem have bad design
Unavoidable damage is useful in setting up risk vs reward situations and if you're not stocked on health enough to deal with it it's your own damn fault.
>>
The only real sins are:

Unskippable cutscenes
Unavoidable damage
"Casual filters"
Unskippable in-game tutorials
Split paths you can't backtrack to and have no indication which is the side path with missable objects

These are all that come to mind.
>>
>>382458035
>walking cutscenes that cant be skipped

Oh look, it's this meme again. Don't worry, you'll learn how to think critically someday.
>>
>>382460527
Not only did I not play the game, I have no knowledge about it either, other than the fact that the artstyle looks somewhat decent
>>
>>382460042
Wrong on all counts.
