Man, Capcom used to be cool. They may not have been the best, but Capcom was the tits when they were putting out Mega Man, Breath of Fire, and arcade/crossover fighters.

They put out some great non-SF fighters and characters that sadly never caught on.
I had a lot of fun with this one. I don't understand why that one magazine from 1995 slammed the game for not being "Capcom" enough.
I won't say I'd love to see Capcom bring it back with the state of the company as it is, but I'd consider it a gem.

The Breath of Fire definitely weren't better than the FF SNES library, but they were more colorful and pretty cozy in their own right.
Breath of Fire III's a great culmination of that colorful quality. IV toned it down and leaned more on the Asian culture and mysticism, and then V made everything dark and dull. Both good games in their own right, but they probably serve as good hallmarks of the times and where Capcom was headed.

On a related note, I'd love to see Xenogears and it's Gear designs resurface somehow. They're supposed to be in that upcoming Figureheads TPS coming out sometime, but I haven't seen a single promo image of them or anything like that. Just a trailer with Flight playing in the background.

This was similar to Final Fight in that it started out as a little known beat-em-up called Armored Warriors. Same way Captain Commando started.
By the way, anyone ever notice how Inafune/the people working on Mega Man games borrowed heavily from Captain Commando? The ground pound move is clearly the inspiration for Zero's ground pound, and so is Baby Head the inspiration for Bon Bonne in the Legends game.
