Grindframe

It takes way, way too much RNG to make progress since the only way to increase your damage is by upgrading serration, multi-shot, and element/status mods. The first time I even saw the Gustov 3 to get multi-shot was like 500 hours into the game.

Also really sucks because the matchmaking only puts you with other characters who are playing a map for the first time, so you're shit out of luck if you need to beat some point capture mission in the middle of nowhere to progress through the solar system. I never would've beaten them if I didn't have a ton of dummy plugs and ospreys saved up.

It was great in the beta, around 2013. Since then the game's direction went fucking wrong. Especially in art design.
Now i have over 2000 hours of playtime in Warframe, so i can't really judge from a casual perspective.

Also playing with Warbros was fun as hell, but eventually they ruined themselves as well.

They change the core gameplay mechanics several times despite the game being out as a finished product. Rendering items that were good useless. They go full LoL with new frames being ridiculously powerful. The grind treadmill has a poor variety of content and gameplay only really exists to support the treadmill.
It was a decent game at one point but instead of futures development or making a sequel they trash and rewrite the game over and over.

Imagine if instead of making street fighter 1 through 5 as sequels the game was just called street fighter and got completely retooled every year or so making it impossible to play previous versions.

I had a friend tell me to play Warframe over Destiny. I don't know how you can make your skinnerbox feel even shittier than Destiny, but Warframe achieves that. It's like the Call of Duty of skinnerboxes where everything instantly dies and there's no end game.

Grind that gets worse every update by a developer that keeps adding new gimmicks that don't work while not fixing glaring bugs and design mistakes that are constantly being pointed out by the community.

However, the core gameplay (gunplay, abilities, parkour and overall action) is very satisfying, accompanied by very nice graphics. Too bad on high levels it turns into absolute dogshit with hordes of unkillable bullet sponge enemies.

Shit melee combat
Theoritically there are combos, but they're all extremely simple and there's no reason to mix them- one is just the best. Melee combat consists of just spamming the same simple combo until everything dies. Huge shame because I usually prefer melee to ranged.

Dead PvP
PvP rewards are for PvP only, so very little people bother with it. It's so fucking dead that a huge portion of the playerbase doesn't even know it exists

Even just releasing it as a $60 game, without the microtransaction paywalls to get through content (Formas, Orokin Reactor/Catalyst, etc.) + proper trade system would make the game excellent.

As it stands, it's fun for the first few hundred hours before the repetition starts to sink in that this shit isn't getting anywhere nor is it getting better, and you realize if you want to progress at a reasonable pace you HAVE to buy forma + Orokin Reactor/Catalysts for the good warframes and weapons to get to higher tier content, but you're stuck just maxing out shit weapons and warframes and vendoring them afterwards due to limited inventory space.

Digital Extremes is the most incompetent dev team that i've ever had the displeasure of knowing. They way they've been building the game since the beginning is as follows:

>Immediately fix bugs that are beneficial to the player
>Maybe fix a few of the bugs that are harmful to the player over the course of the next few months

Their forum moderation is stricter than Auschwitz, anything less than devout praise is censored or ignored. The forums exist only for the dev team to stroke their ego.
