How does a company like Capcom look at everything Guilty Gear is doing and think it's not worth the effort emulating. I'm amassive capcbro and even I'm not satisfied completely going back to SFV. If it didn't have Birdie I'd have dropped it completely.

The shinkiro inspired designs from old school SNK games did actually look realistic which is why I still play the shit out of 90s era SNK fighters (even the lighting was realistic.), but that's a shitty excuse because KOF 14 doesn't look realistic at all. It looks like a cartoon. Half of the characters even have the same exact face.

GG XRD has had two lengthy story modes that put SF5 to shame in terms of production values. It also has an actual arcade mode

The game has an impossibly better training mode, going from "here are the buttons" in a fun minigame to extremely in depth shit like "heres how to deal with this annoying matchup" and "here's the meta tactics lots of people like to use, like OS and safe jumps"

GG has a pretty fun single player/casual mode called MOM where you can level up characters and obtain wacky special moves you activate via smash bros inputs. You can also take these characters online.

GG lets you unlock most colors, music and characters using in-game money instead of microtransactions.

GG's online framework is way, way better in terms of matchmaking, options netcode and loading times

It has way more single-player content and tutorials, a great online lobby system, less input delay, better netcode, more colours if you care about that, more defensive and offensive options, more ways to use meter, stuff like that.

The only thing SFV is better at is having a lower skill floor, crossplay, more characters once this season progresses a bit, and it's more popular. It's also not weeb as fuck.

I like SFV's art style because it looks like one of those Manga drawn by some Ghetto American like Felipe Smith. I normally don't like anime at all, but that graffiti looking American off-shoot of the animu style is pretty cool.

Gameplay wise, that would get rid of the main appeal SF has always had. SF is a series that is easy to pick up and play, and isn't complicated to follow. Guilty Gear is complex as fuck.

Graphically, Capcom is probably just lazy. They'd rather just make a shinier version of SFIV's visuals. Oh well, at least the girls have nicer looking feet in SFV than they did in SFIV.

How is this relevant? Hitbox makes a lot of stuff easier in games like GG. Shit like high jump instant airdash will exaust your hand on stick while it's quite easy on hitbox. How is more convinient controller a gimmick?

I never found super jump IADs to be very difficult. I can probably do 5 in a row, at least I could when I-No still needed them before they made some combos more lenient with her in Revelator or whatever. But I play on _pad

The update alone (if you already had Rev 1) was $20. If you bought the game brand-spanking new, it was $40. As a long time Arcsys fighting game fan, you don't know how big of a miracle this is. No more paying $60 for one update.
