What's been the best summer sale gimmick?
The monster summer sale sticks in my mind, it was kind of odd but also fun, if only because of the ridiculous methods people set up to get to high levels.

I have purchased Portal 2, All the Bioshock games, (ive never played any of them) Amnesia: Dark Descent,
Oblivion and New Vegas GOTY's, (have only played them lightly on the 360) the entire Mount and Blade series, and Morrowind GOTY. Will this last me until next year's sale?

NV is the only TES-like I've not only finished the main story in, but I also did it without mods. NV is a good game made better with mods, rather than being a bad game turned into a novelty toy with mods like Bethesda games.

That said, if you're going to buy it, you should get the ultimate edition because you'll want to but it later anyway and the DLC on its own is more expensive than the ultimate edition.

I really don't like fps. The only fps I've liked in recent years was Vanquish and you can't even call it that with how it handles.

The 2010 store thing was cool, I'm kinda bummed they haven't tried that again, especially with the steam market and just how many games have tradable items.
The Monster clicker game was fun. I mean, it wasn't very complex, even for a clicker game, but they tried and it was fun for what it was.
The Team competition was fun in concept, and god knows the shitposting was excellent, but it was completely ruined by being blatantly rigged; scores suddenly changing by impossible amounts over night, every night, pretty much just to get people to buy more to try and support their team.
The Steam Choice Awards were fun for shitposting, but beyond that were kinda lame. The categories were dumb, the games chosen for the categories were dumb, and the results were depressing considering the polls weren't rigged.
The sticker shit sucks. The stickers look lazily scribbled out, the choice for the characters were weird, and they're not really good looking backgrounds. It's not the worst gimmick, but it's not something I'll remember for long after it's over.

Death Road to Canada is fun. It's like Organ Trail but with actual gameplay, along with text-based choices with consequences. Plus you can make your own character, and each character has their own trait and perk. Traits/Perks can be unlocked/upgraded, too. It's $10 (33%).
Streets of Rogue is surprisingly fun, despite the odds being stacked against it with not-great pixel graphics, being a "roguelike" with Rogue in the title, and being in early-access. It's currently fairly early in development, but has had pretty hefty bi-weekly updates, and already has a large amount of content for $7.50 (50%). Tons of different characters to unlock, each with very different playstyles; it reminds me of SS13, but singleplayer. There is a multiplayer mode though, which is fun when it works, but as it is it's a huge mess. Still, definitely worth getting.

This is an Ubisoft game made by non-Ubisoft. Be aware of this before buying, if you played an Assassin's Creed game, you are buying the same game again with a different coat of paint. The Combat is laughable, the Nemesis system is shallow as all hell, the story is uninteresting.
It's an okay sandbox to dick around in for a few hours, and if you are not yet worn out on the AC Formula, you could do worse for that price.
If AC bores the fuck out of you, you should stay away.

Convince me NOT to do it. You guys helped me with downed state before, I hope you will help me with this one as well.

The only problem I see with Stranger if it wont turn out TOO hard and that it only have 50% off. Otherwise I wanted to buy it last Winter Sale but it had only -25% back then. I really, REALLY want to play some dungeon crawlers, Im replaying M&M 7 right now and Im still hungry. I have Grimrock 1 and 2, didnt play 2 (HB bundle, sorry), did played 1, disliked the real-time (in M&M at least I can switch to turn-based).

FFF and Neptunia are "brain-dead" games I will need soon, too. And Empyrion looks like Space Engineers but with actual survive mode instead of lacklust one. Probably wont have as detailed physics system tho but now have something SE dont have (like weather system, heat and radiation).

I welcome all advices!

Empyrion is okay. I played both that and spengs.
It's surprisingly well optimized and bug-free for an early access game.
It has less options than spegs, especially for technology (no moving parts like rotors or pistons at all, no conveyor tubes, no programmable blocks, no remote control, etc) and space gameplay is far less complex, but in return you get a billion times better planet gameplay and survival.

Haven't played DQHeroes2 but 1 was probably the best example of recent musou. Still got bored 15hours in.

Berserk is typical musou, boring from the get go. Also has a grafix option which, if turned on high, makes the game run 40fps on a fucking gtx1070.

I ususally like this style of game too. It looks pretty from the trailer, but honestly the story is just plain bad, its awfully paced, has multiple plot holes, and is over very quickly. Not worth the 10 schmeckles.

If you really need to see the story, go watch it on youtube for free or pirate it.

Other than that solid buys, I purchased doom myself as well and am looking forward to it.

It's the same as every other open world multiplayer FPS survival pvp shit clogging up Steam. It will remain popular for as long as it takes for someone else to make yet another one of these and then everyone will move to that. Funny enough, playing on highest difficulty can be sometimes easier than playing on lower ones, as it increase damage output from ranged weapons for both sides.

Problem is difficulty increases/decreases damage for everyone just the same, so at lower difficulties you can take a lot more hits before dying but so can everyone else. This makes gunfights drag on way too long and your weapons feel ineffective. On master gunfights are more satisfying but remember to autosave a lot because it's not unheard of to get instakilled by a random headshot.

I can honestly say I didn't think much of having played the others when I realized cop was so much better.

Clear Sky is maybe worth playing just for the faction battles which can be decent fun. And it easily has the best graphics out of them. CoP does seem to suffer from a tiny bit of consoleitis on the graphics side.

Are you playing on Nightmare? Zombies take an absurd amount of effort to kill with weapons on that difficulty.

If you knock a zombie to the ground, you can stomp on their head and instantly kill them. Thing is, the game doesn't actually require them to be on the ground, just at around knee height, so if you stand up on a car bonnet or a dumpster, you can crush their head while they're still standing.
