She really is. That spin-dash thing she has is pretty much the only thing she has going for her. Jeanne's attacks come out fairly slow, so even despite her reach, she can't do much. For someone who is supposed to be that much better than the other servants, she comes off as just a poor Lancer in a game with fairly good ones.

Also, her NP kills herself, and so requires you to burn command seals if you don't want to be kicked out of the mission. Somewhat irrelevant in Extella, but it does mean the rare double-NP option isn't even available. You'll lose even if she does roast the final boss of the stage.

I'm familiar with how the NP charge system works.

Well, I'm 90% familiar. I'm still not clear if throwing out a NP at 200% charge gives the Overcharge effect or not; I've not played around with it enough to be sure. But I was saying that Arts NP - Buster NP - Arts doesn't grant the Arts bonus and so wouldn't give Waver the extra NP boost that he would've preferred, and that hand setup really didn't allow for anything else. If the battle wasn't over with that attack, it would've mattered a lot more.

Although Jeanne's NP into Carmilla's NP is a good choice for the bonus damage from a chained NP. Plus the Overcharge against Liz.

Who to nab as a damage support for clearing 40ap's?

Herc and vlad do good damage but they also get blown up fast. My jeanne can't help them.

It depends on their levels. If they are leveled up, then the extra characters (especially hard-to-kill fuckers) will help you pull through even the worst encounters. If they are all level 1, though, you're far better with kicking them off and using better Craft Essences. Although you'll note that even the good CEs aren't all that impressive.

Most people are going to tell you to dump all your EXP into a single servant, regardless of EXP type.
Most people are also going to turn around and complain that they can't clear the 40AP fights.

From my perspective, you should be leveling up a full team, or close to it. Level them up equally, and you probably want two decent characters as backup as well for a full 5-team; preferably ones who can survive well. I'd recommend every Saber card going to Arturia, every Berserker card going to Herc, and go ahead and toss any others into Jeanne since she won't get a class EXP bonus regardless what you use. The goal is to hit at least Lv.40 with your main characters, at which point a good support can easily get you through 40AP dailies. Higher than that is certainly better, but you don't want to be forgetting to level another party member in favor of that.

George is fairly tough to kill, and his main gimmick is being able to force all attacks to focus on just him for a few rounds. He seems really good with Berserkers, although I've not tried a George/Zerker/Zerker team yet. He's also fairly decent with Casters, thanks to having an Arts NP and keeping them safe.

However, George does shit damage by himself so you'd better be sure your other two party members can carry the team.

Mash gets one with story progress, so no, not at this time.

You really need to level someone other than your Mash. Like, anybody, at least they will get to a higher level. As for a damage-dealer you'll want someone who can stick around and preferably resist the current daily enemies. Cu Lancer (not prototype) is great for hanging on, decent high-level 4* and 5* like Altera or Emiya are probably going to last for a bit. Just don't go with a Berserker because you'll see them die off too quickly.

No. You can overcharge his NP to recover his HP, but not his NP. Rather, he hands out a lot of buffs to the party with his NP. He gets paired with Waver, who can let him NP repeatedly and so buff the party repeatedly.

Medea, however, WILL charge her own NP gauge with an Overcharge. So you can do something like Andersen NP - Medea NP - Medea Arts and end up at around 70% NP with Medea afterwards. Plus, Medea has a self-NP recover skill.

She didn't do that much damage, when I tried her though.

There are a lot of "maybes" and "what ifs" there, but that's the general idea. Buster first if you want the most damage, Arts first for the most NP, Quick first for the most stars.
