Why do people ever buy DLC heavy games when they're just going to do a "definitive" version that has all the DLC for cheaper, on a physical copy, AND has more stuff in it than the original, rendering the previous game obsolete?
Future Tone is all dlc though, the base game is only 2 out of 230+ songs. Add-ons for DX are getting released digitally too.
Enjoy being late to the party nonetheless.
>>382371171
No one expected Future Tone to get a physical release.

>Enjoy being late to the party nonetheless.
I don't understand this line of thought.
You seem to imply that a game with no multiplayer has an 'expiration date'.
>>382371770
It's more that you would've missed out on playing and talking about it when it came out in July last year and January this year. Guess it doesn't amount to too much but neither does the same game but on a disc.
>>382372567
Why would I want to talk to those people?
They import it in japanese and spoil things once it gets localized and people start talking about it again.
>>382372765
>They import it in japanese and spoil things once it gets localized
How do they spoil things?
>>382373138
Can't really spoil a rhythm game, but stuff like Persona 5 is a recent example of spoilers from the Japanese version.
>>382371171
Because we had no idea it would be released on a physical copy? They barely fucking announced it.
>>382371627
Because a physical release was expensive as fuck... Oh wait, you're talking about the disc. Yeah, no one expected that.
>>382371171
Normally I'd concur, but we're talking about Project Diva here. We must be a good goy for Miku.
>>382371171
>rendering the previous game obsolete?
i am pretty positive that all those "extra" stuff will become dlc or whatever for the people that allready bought digital version though
>>382373457
>>382373358
This kind of stuff isn't even new to miku games.
project mirai 1 was completely obsoleted by project mirai 2, which had all of the songs from the previous one.
Going further back, project diva 2 and extend feature almost every single song from the original project diva, and this one is more substantial because PD1 didn't have extreme charts, and the engine drawing the game markers in PD1 was so shitty it would FRAMESKIP on native hardware even if you took away the rendered visuals, which is why the last couple of songs were just static images.
Should I wait to buy the big hatsune miku ps4 game? Is there more stuff coming out?
I think I'll finally buy a PS4 once this comes out.
There hasn't been much to catch my attention this console gen.
>>382374139
>Is there more stuff coming out?
Anyones guess whether physical comes to the west or not. As far as I know anything the physical release gets will also be available digitally.
>>382374578
It'll definitely come to the US, they'll skip europe because F2nd didn't sell AT ALL there.
>>382374578
In the US, probably. Europe will get cucked again.
>>382371171
I still don't understand why do you need to tell us about how you intelligently waited for this version 50 times a week.
Still, a western version of the physical edition is not guaranteed. All we know is that SEGA confirmed the digital DLC coming to the West. Nothing else, nothing more. And even if it did, holy shit you are going to play it 1-2 years later than everyone else and their mothers.
And what exactly makes you think that FTDX won't have more DLC?
>>382376058
because they're gonna make a sequel to the arcade game and sell that instead
>>382376058
It would be hard to justify having a GOTY version to have even more DLCs
I avoid Definitive Editions, as I dint support DLC.
>>382376123
What? This is the sequel to the arcade. The arcade is called "Future Tone arcade". This is Future Tone DX. If they ever add new songs to the arcade then you'll have to buy them as DLC.
>>382376235
This is not a GOTY version of the game though. Think of it like Guilty Gear Revelator and then Guilty Gear Rev2.
>>382371171
Are they gonna fix the glaring issue where miku and everyone look like creepy plastic dolls instead of the old art style where they were more cel-shaded in appearance?
>>382376319
DX is almost always reserved for "definitive editions", meaning deluxe, or directors cut.
>>382376437
But I like plastic dolls...
>>382376523
You are still buying the port of a arcade game that until recently got updated frequently. Do you think they'll suddenly give you all the new content for free that they add to the arcade?
>>382376827
Not really, but they have a much greater lucrative incentive to make a whole new game so they can start making DLC for that one right away!
>tfw no Mirai 3.
>>382376319
>This is not a GOTY version of the game though.
It is. There is no difference between having the digital version + all DLCs and the DX version.
Engine, assets, songs, modules. Everything the same.
>>382376913
You do realize that Future Tone DX is already the upgraded version of future tone, right? Even if you buy it for the digital version it upgrades your game, that's why they specifically say that you can import save files. As I said, you have to look at it like gg revelator to rev2. You can buy rev2 as a brand new game for 50 bucks but you can also upgrade your existing copy for a lower price. The arcade itself doesn't get DLC, it gets new songs.
>>382377042
>tfw no edit mode for DX so we're stuck with the same songs.
>>382377050
You know what. Let's have it your way. What are you going to do when they release DLC for your "GOTY version"? Why didn't you wait for the GOTY version of the GOTY version then?
>>382377146
>>382377457
Arcade is dead, though. They'll probably put the new songs, but that's it. And with that over, new DLCs are very unlikely.
>>382377457
When has this ever happened?
>Physical copy released years after the digital
this should be illegal
