I love The Witcher games. All three have a place in my personal top ten. But I can definitely nitpick the game.

- no monster trophy room in Corvo Bianco. Seems like a missed opportunity.
- no dedicated NPC day/night patrols. Understandable with a game of TW3's size it would be unfeasible to have the NPCs actually follow a daily patrol path, but I think TW2 had some of it. Like NPCs wouldn't just despawn from the world at night but go to their homes and go to bed etc.
- researching the monster doesn't yield benefits or extra loot. It was a fun minigame in TW2.

Wouldn't you say that the travelling is more exciting if the world has the potential to suddenly become dangerous? An example: if enemies would stalk you from the distance and try to harrass and ambush you (maybe for an interesting reason that is hard to make out at first), that'd be a great open-world mechanic that would make even travelling an exciting affair. Of course, Witcher 3 lacks actual open world mechanics, so it's just a conventional game set in a giant level-one (how do we make a game as lazily as possible? I know, let's make it open world).

And as beautiful as it is, it lacks style. The Witcher books probably described things like trees in a really suggestive, evocative way that put a feeling in you (or not, I never read them), but the game is just like, photorealistic trees that aren't so interesting. Artistic stylization makes things more fun, more human. Witcher's world is just pretty, like a nice photo, but not very artistic (I love the costumes and character models, at least)

desu the most cancerous part of the game is easily when you focus on potions. The UI is fucking cancer when using alchemy in general as you have to constantly go into various menus. After that a lot of perks are fucking shit such as the bleeding light attack perk or the sign intensity perks.

I'm on Death march and NG+ but the only difficulty I encounter is when I try to do a sign heavy build because it's just that shit if you don't abuse Igni stunlock or maxing Puppet. It also seems like the mods you use that change combat just nerf everything so even the field.

I'd like the game more if I was a random witcher and just monster hunted all day desu. Triss and Yenn were shit and Ciri is a miracle of the universe.

I've only played 3 but to my knowledge they don't seem to exist.
In every instance of divine intervention you encounter it's either magic (mages healing people or normals accidentally cursing someone), a monster fucking with people for personal gain (like the lardass sylvan or the hym), or just plain old superstition and a complete lack of magical/alchemical knowledge when people take hallucinogens.

I've never seen real evidence of deities, there's always some sort of explanation

Pretty much. They only become super human when they use potions, which they need to spend hours preparing ahead of time. They don't carry around a bag full of them like in TW3.

They definitely have above human stamina/reflexes naturally, but not to the point where they can level whole squadrons of soldiers without potions.

If they were confronted by a squad of dudes without preparing ahead of time they'd probably get rekt.

Kinda early and expensive but the upgrades are pretty shit. You get a place to buff your armor/weapon, stash, buffs for resting, buff to roach, and a place to plant herbs along with a few other minor shit like armor stands. Not worth the investment since you won't be resting there for the buffs. You do unlock an alchemy bench there that lets you transmute stuff but you don't need to buy it.

After isle of mist you have to gather people to the last stand against the wild hunt then after the fight you have to set up for ANOTHER fight so I'd say 20%~? Maybe 15% left? You'rep retty close.

Witcher Senses is a terrible mechanic.

The leveling system is dumb. You have a couple of slots for abilities, but you have to poor points into each ability too. Each level up feels like a very small gain in power because of this and you can't even use all of your abilities at once. The entire system just encourages specializing in specific abilities early on rather than trying out various different tools.

The level restriction on gear is also pretty lame too.

Also lvl 2 ghouls and lvl 20 ghouls being the same enemy, but one of them dies in a single blow and the other kills you in a single blow.

I really like The Witcher 3, but there's some pretty big flaws with the actual RPG mechanics.

- The conversations can be slow at times, I am a big reader so the problem is not the attention span, But rather the overly long conversations and overbearing exposition.
- Combat system is not satisfying, With JRPGs you have numbers going up to satisfy you, With games like Zelda you have immediate response as the satisfaction. Witcher seems to fall flat somewhere inbetween.
- Very Stagnant environments throughout the game.
- Very lacking in "WOW!" moments, Be it story related or technical achievements.

Those are the first 4 that come to mind, Game is pretty good though, Solid 7 - 7.5 / 10?

I crafted a shit ton. Only time I ran out of money was when I was crafting the grandmaster sets. All it took was going out, exploring for a bit, picking everything up, selling it, and done. Rich again.

Also, if you're buying ALL your materials except for a very select few, you're fucking up bad. Shit is easy as hell to come by if you loot everything. If you don't have something, chances are something can be broken down or crafted - if you're picking up everything.

Interrupting opponents without using stamina, hard countering flying and swimming monsters, applying bleed against bosses for the DoT, memeing hard with the crazy damage crossbow and double shot in B&W.

Problem is the crossbow gets outclassed by pretty much everything.
Really wish they went the route of the potions/bombs and made the crossbow apply useful debuffs without expending finite ammo.
