Why haven't you purchased Undertale, the best PC game of all time?
>>
>>382357261
Say what you will about those two.
You where still dumb enough to buy shit They found in the dumpster
>>
Because some anon posted a download link in a thread so I just played that instead.
I played it once and that was enough. Good music though.
>>
mae borowski is my wife

Because I already finished it.

>>
>>382357651
This. Plus now I think it's gay as fuck.
>>
>>382357430
Considering how much porn there is of this game, the cat was the only character I considered fappable.
>>
because the story was spoiled for me, and I don't think it's worth it now
>>
>>382358034
To be fair that doesn't mean the genocide fights aren't fun.
>>
>>382358003
Same. I'd wreck the ever loving hell out of that pussy, pun intended.
>>
>>382357261
because i watched the whole game on youtube
>>
>>382357261
Because I purchased Lisa, the dark souls of undertale
>>
So why the fuck doesn't Sans just gank you during the genocide run? Did he expect you to just stop after you've been kicking the shit out of everyone even remotely in your path?
>>
I did, and did both nokill and genocide route.
I stopped caring because it turned into degenerate tumblr filth
>>
>>382359345
Sans knows any attempt to stop you is nearly guaranteed to be futile, so he only fights you when things are looking very grim.
>>
>>382357261
Because i played it while visiting a friend. Almost all the characters are unlikable douchebags. One of the only likable characters is Undyne (until faggot lizard wrecks shit with her mere presence) and even she's a massive jackass.

>>382359345
Because the story doesn't make any sense and the only reason the game's successful is because all the dipshits playing it didn't stop and think for ten seconds on how trash the story actually is.
>>
>>382358737
maybe that's true but it's already a genre I'm pretty ambivalent about, so I'm good.
>>
>>382357845

I want to death roll with that gator.

Rpgs or mini bullet hells?

What about it doesn't make any sense?
>>
No thanks. I'm straight.

I already purchased it when it came out and loved it. One of my favorite games.

I wouldn't call it the best PC game ever though; Cave Story is better.

>>382357261
I did purchase Undertale. I played through it twice and even though I didn't really enjoy it because I'm a gameplayfag and not a storyfag, it was worth the $5 or whatever.
>>
>>382357261
Because I'd rather play SMT instead.
>>
>>382360013
I meant rpgs, and mostly mechanically, but I guess I haven't really played many bullet helps in general.
>>
>>382360345
I recommend trying it

I'm not a major fan I only did 1 playthrough and it was a fun 3 hours with pretty memorable music
>>
Night in the Woods is nothing like Undertale though.
but they're both pretty good

If you hate NITW so much, why do you keep making threads about it?

if you grew up or still live in a small rural town on the decline you can relate to the setting, conflict, and characters
>>
>>382360810
Well for a start the characters talk like actual fucking human beings, unlike a lot of game writing trying to portray teenagers. If you played Oxenfree its writing feels similar.
It's pretty character driven with a sort of dark plot that lingers in the background but isn't really what pushes it forward, you explore different perspectives of people in their young adult life in a small town thats losing steam, and seeing how they handle where they are and where they want to be. Basically themes that are really prevalent in current america of that generation. Its got some cute warioware style minigames mixed between walky talky sections, so expect that.
>>
>>382360810
Lots of character development and potentially lots of relatability. The setting is very cozy

I bought Undertale the week it came out, before the Smash/MLP-tier autism and tumblristic fans came and turned the name into cancer. It was a cute little experience to discuss while the innocence lasted.

Also pirated NITW because Marxists don't deserve money.

HAHAHAHA
>>
>>382362270
Benson is a shameless commie and threw obvious propaganda into the game. Only braindead drones would have missed it.

I say this as somebody who actually liked most other aspects of the ""game"".
>>
>>382361993
I pirated it to but only because $20 was way too steep for what it seemingly offered, and while it is a cute game, it aint worth 20 burger tokens.
>>
>>382362572
>obvious propaganda

Example?
>>
>>382360810
Some fun characters, a story that isn't very pretentious or unrelatable, 10/10 sound design, and some pretty art that's actually quite detailed and nice throughout the whole game.

It's NOT flawless. They fumble the ending pretty bad and it definitely needed some more hangouts to flesh out the characters who aren't the main 2 and give you more choices to make. That being said, it's a fairly well done story based game if you're into that kinda thing. /pol/ uses it as an excuse to shitpost for a couple of out of context lines though so good luck getting a decent opinion around here.

Not that dude, but characters make jabs at capitalism and are resentful that jobs have left their town and that theres nothing they can really do about it. At the end of the game they not only use an obvious metaphor for the older generation fucking things up for the young out of green, but then actively spell it out for you.
The context is completely within character and makes sense coming from what they're dealing with. It's also objectively correct
>>
>>382363357
>wanna say to anon how that shit's right
>anon is actually smart
Although getting rid of capitalism wouldn't solve the problem, and as of right now it's the best thing we have since mankind isn't capable of communism and no other good alternatives exist. I just wish we can keep the corporations in check.
>>
>>382363357
So it's another case of "it's propaganda because it presents ideas I disagree with positively?"
>>
>>382363803
Did you even read his post?
>>
>>382363357

>tfw you grew up in what used to be a factory town in Michigan
>tfw everything and everyone started shutting down year by year

The council was just doing what they had to
>>
>>382363615
Yeah im not on v to argue politics, and im more liberal than the vocal around here, but at the end of the day the problem is really the lack of effectiveness of the political system/corruption, I think thats why so many people voted Trump and why others were interested in Sander within the 20 something age group. They both stood as people outside a system that were pissed about how convoluted it had gotten.
>>382363803
The game has a clear ideological message, and dosnt hide it. If you want to call that propaganda is entirely up to you, I wouldn't consider it to be so, but I'm pretty open minded to talking politics without getting hyperbolic.
>>382364010
I used to live in South East Michigan, best decision I ever made was getting out. Sad though, because theres a lot of cool cultural shit in michigan but there are just no opportunities unless you're an engineer.
>>
>>382364010
It's understandable but at some point you gotta just move on
>>
>>382363803
The worst it gets is a pretty objectively bad guy saying immigrants took away jobs from the town. Outside of that, it's not even these things being portrayed in a positive or negative light. It's literally just characters.

There's a person you can see in the trailer who says "No fascists allowed" and has a ramble she goes on but she is kinda portrayed as a college hipster and even a character who hates the main character and is a jerk to her. I dunno about most but I walked away hating her regardless of her politics. Other than that, I guess there's poetry at the library where a girl reads a general "society sucks" poem but it's all pretty overblown to what the main story actually is.
>>
>>382362864
>smash capitalism!
>bear's poem about burning down successful people
>whole town is going under because bad business (because we all know bigger-taxes will fix that, lel)
>bea herself being socialist because of that
>jackie's abrupt antifa-qualm
>bad guys being far-right stereotypes (not that real-life examples can't be retarded too though)

Also go read Benson's twitter sometime, it's pretty fucking painful.
>>
>>382364829
Isnt that dude the artist and not the writer?
>>
>>382363357
It's right that capitalism has flaws that jews abuse, it's wrong thinking marxism is a huge improvement given the larger poverty, stagnation and murder every case has caused.

LISA and Undertale inspired me to make my own RPG, but I'm such a fucking retard when it comes to coding. Should I fall for the memes and learn Gamemaker, or should I just bite the bullet and buy RPGmaker?

I've got a story script, maps charted out in graph paper, and I think it could really be a success if I wasn't such a retard.
>>
>>382365092
He's a co-writer as well. Main writer was either Holowka himself or the chick he hired.
>>
>>382364829
>a joke
>a poem written by a frustrated excon with no job
>tax and business are irrelevant to the town's success at this point, all the wealth and industry has dried up because the demand for their products isn't there
>she's a kid trying to make sense of her situation
>it's not an uncommon sentiment today
>people with an extreme interest in restoring the town to a traditional state are extreme traditionalists, shocker

If the half-truth is all you see and none of it + the obvious bias of the co-writer added up to anything to you, there's little else I can tell you.
>>
>>382365125
critique of capitalism isn't necessarily Marxism, and Marxism itself isn't necessarily a prescriptive government ideology
>>
>>382365952
If you want to pretend everything that disagrees with you is a shallow propaganda hitpiece with no legitimate critique or context, reducing it to a label like Marxism or Communism you feel you can dismiss out of hand instead of analyzing the merits of its perspective, there is really nothing I can do to change your mind.
>>
>>382366449
>If you want to pretend everything that disagrees with you is a shallow propaganda
Read. Benson's. Fucking. Twitter. He outright says it's what he's focused on more than anything.

I already understood what pro's he brings forth and I don't take it black-and-white, but his lack of knowledge regarding what he reveres so deeply only proves he's an idiot, and obviously means nothing less given what he presents.
>>

Honestly that teenager speak deserves nothing but ridicule, and any writer that isn't trying to be "ironic" would know that good dialogue simply cannot from such a vapid dialect.

All of the 'propaganda' in the game represents how the characters would actually feel given their situations. The young and stupid characters are supporting Marxism. It would be propoganda if the characters were flawless, but every character in NITW is heavily flawed, their beliefs being a product of their character and history, not a product of a shitty artist shoehorning his shitty beliefs. I'm fairly conservative myself and even I can separate fictional character beliefs from propaganda. Get out of the internet bubble, dude.
>>

Matpat is severely autistic and shouldn't be trusted with anything. I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually went mad when he got to meet the pope and who knows how many other people didn't despite being better choices for the topic at hand (I.E. talking about how the internet affects shit if I recall correctly).

I have purchased Undertale.
It is easily the more forgettable Earthbound inspired game I have played, or it would be if not for how far down their throat Tumblr has taken it.

Let me give you my tier list.

>LISA
>OFF
>Undertale
>>
>mc is a girl

>>
Is this a Furry game?
>>
>>382372120
I heard a super that supposedly the maker didn't know about furies and tried to de-animalify the characters as much as possible. I don't know how true it is but it would explain why no one ever mentions any animal traits or properties in the extent of the whole game. The only time Mae comes off as a cat is the time she scratched a mirror and it left a claw like scratch I suppose. No one ever says cat, dog, bear, whatever or acts in any way like their animal.
