A boy falls in love with a girl.

Unable to confess, he is gifted by a deus ex machina with the girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.

But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.

Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LOVE.

You are an alian life form.
The entirety of your planet is connected.
All of it is meat that can warp and change however it wishes. There is a society made up of creatures so wide in their biology and anatomy that you can as player barely categorize them.
They live in caves because the surface is completely uninhabitable. You are an eyed-one. Your job is to collect images for the collective consciousness. You are not entirely an individual but merely a piece of the whole. There are countless other tools creatures with different functions and abilities. One day, as you were just observing your cave and serving your society something happens. You are cut off from the rest of the bio-organism for a minute. You become a wretched thing, howling in pain and killing anything you touch and all the while try to establish connection again. By the time you are about to reached your goal you already develop an ego. You are now really an individual but a very primitive one. You look around and start seeing hunters arrive(hunters are like white blood cells that kill foreign material inside our bodies) You save your hide barely and reach a small hole where the sun shines down. You turn into a snake and escape to the surface.

You're a funky cosmic metaphysical entity that can posess people in a small 1950s town. The people in the town are all fully characterized each with their own problems and various solutions to their problems. People in the town have unique schedules (ex. on weekdays Mr Robinson will go to work and Mrs. Robinson will get rammed by the milkman while he's out). By doing certain things to certain people at specific times you cam trigger widely different reaction.

The game is a sandbox. You can choose to help the townsfolk, help some towns folk, fuck over the townsfolk or stay outside of a host and just pick off the town's folk in your surreal as shit true form.

By the way, your true form would be designed in a character creation menu at the start of the game. Options would include being made of tracking lines, being 2d, looking like a biblical angel, having glowing and smokey effects, looking like an LSD inspired artpiece from the 70s or any combination of the above.

>Every session throws you back into the hellish nightmare having to fend off and escape demons
>All a metaphor for guilt and coming to terms with one's actions
That's all I got. Not sure what the gameplay would be like, probably more cinematic, but it could be a good setup for something. I know the whole antichrist story had been done in movies but I haven't seen the likes of it in a game.

You are a part of group of bandits. You roam the countryside and do all kinds of shit for money. Slowly you gain leadership. You travel with a succubus (male) as he slowly seduces you. Basically Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Gameplay from Dishonored/Thief. Sneaking around, looting stuff, killing people. Gradually discovering a greater plot where the world hangs in balance depending on your choices. The final choice is to denounce homosexuality and leave your criminal ways behind for greater good or have a bad ending and stay as you are and leave the world in a state of chaos.

I've wanted to make a level-less SRPG for quite a while that incorporates base-building, the idea being that you're the princess of a fantasy kingdom that has been overrun by the forces of evil. The chosen hero who was supposed to save you was killed, so it's up to you to reconquer the kingdom with your own two hands. Every map is littered with things you can interact with in the environment, and instead of it being a numbers game, it's more about using each unit's skills (innate, trained, and via items) to outwit your opponent. You start out with a band of humans but can recruit members of other races as you progress. Each unit has their own innate racial skills; on top of that you can train them to have skills during the base-building portions, and you provide everyone with an equipment load-out (think LoZ-like dungeon items, not just weapons). Maps get increasingly more complex as you go on.
Once you win a battle and conquer an area, freeing the people captive there, you can recruit and train them. You also have to leave some of your troops to defend there, and areas can be re-attacked by the evil forces. When that happens, the evil forces enter the side of the map that you attacked from originally and vice versa, so that you're now "defending", meaning that you have to switch up your strategy accordingly.

You are a man in an age where virtual reality has reached its peak. Not only does all senses get properly transferred during the log-in process, but fail-safes prevent 99% of 'possible accidents' so you can explore, fight, and log-out in ease. Your job is to investigate the 1% of the time accidents occur -- unexplained deaths during access, users unable to regain consciousness, pain inhibitor gauges being completely bypassed (or even put beyond normal values), your job is to figure out why these things happen and how to resolve the situations. Over the course of the game you will fight against those who create viruses that affect the systems of whomever they "defeat" in VR, causing the firewall to be bypassed and the user to become infected. These issues will range from players who end up feeling like they really were stabbed to girls who were kidnapped in VR and forced to remain as slaves for the rich -- the end goal is to completely eradicate the last 1% chance of anything happening.

You can also make yourself a cute magical girl or aging kitsune baba in VR with all the mannerisms you've come to expect.

This makes a shitty game and is better as a movie, except it would also make a shitty movie. Making >>>games<<< that are plot-driven, but with plots that are shallow enough so that nobody would care for them if they weren't games and were movies or books or animations, but now that their bottom of the barrel narrative is presented in a vidya format, it's for some reason magically considered good by people who don't know jack shit about good games OR movies is the absolute fucking worst.

You crash on an uncharted habitable planet, must salvage what you can from your escape pod/shuttle, somehow travel to a distant crash site, run into locals and hostile aliens on your way, blow the fuck out of them while expanding your arsenal (from less-than-lethal crap you start with to flak cannons, miniguns, exploding/ricocheting disks and grey goo launchers), and either repair a crashed ship using RPG and crafting elements to escape, or find the alien mothership, fight your way through it and hijack that shit.
A cross of Unreal and Subnautica, to put it simply.

Mite be cool, though the FPS part needs to be much more developed than the "early access survival crafting" part to break the mold in any meaningful way.
>>
>>382347005
>FPS part needs to be much more developed than the "early access survival crafting"
Of course, I imagine Unreal-tier combat in the game. Unreal had a simple inventory system, and plenty of late 90s 3D shooters had limited RPG elements that later evolved into muh crafting - these elements shouldn't take away from the action or make it more RPGey.

Brace yourselves.

Been foaming at the mouth with incoherent but cool as fuck (imo) ideas for almost 6 fucking years now so I'm gonna try to string these together.

>In the beginning, a god awoke, and gave life to two dimensions, home to about 20 people each
>both dimensions knew about each other
>the god creates two other dimensions; a magic punk dimension that starts in the middle ages and later becomes a magic punk modern era, and the dimension of magic and space exploration
>both dimensions are part of a balance -- one will advance into its future from nothing, and one will regress from its prosperity into nothing
>the cycles will repeat
>There are three brothers, one who wishes to keep the worlds separate, one who wishes to rule as the god over them, and one who wishes to destroy them, and then the god himself.
>the third brother collapses both dimensions, killing everyone but his brothers
>he goes off to the realm of man to control everyone, create an army, and destroy the god, known as "The Creator"
>the second brother is consumed with rage, knowing that the third will destroy 'his' worlds that he's 'meant to control,' and goes down to build an army himself to destroy the third
>wars ensue between the two, and the magic they use begins corrupting people
>the second brother sees this, and creates a shadow realm for the corrupted to live in peace, as they're shunned by society
>the first brother sees the fighting and how it's destroying the worlds, and plans to kill both of his brothers to put an end to it
>finds a legendary soul-powered sword, and five children of the most powerful family of mages at the time
>not strong enough to destroy his super powered brothers, so, against his morals, he consumes the five souls to power his blade, and strikes down the second brother
>it wasn't enough, and now he's pissed
>portals open around the world, and his armies start flooding through, consuming the lands.
>>
>detective trying to find out who stole the bread
>turns out bread doesn't exist in the game universe

A family torn asunder by its dark past, coming to terms with the reality that beseeches them.
A father who makes the ultimate sacrifice for an unappreciative son, a friend who betrays his liege.
A nation under fire from an empire that seeks its prestige, a modern society built upon the songs of sword and sorcery of the crystal which sustains it.
A story of love lost, withered ties, and unbridled tragedy.
This is a fantasy based on reality.

>in response to this, the first brother makes an army of his own -- one of not only magical superiority, but technological as well.

>the second brother's son defects and joins the first brother, after seeing the monstrosities he creates

>submits himself for testing for a prototype super soldier program to create super soldiers powered not only by the most advanced technology, but the most advanced magical enchantments as well

>years pass, the testing succeeds

>enter the Valor Program, a program to create super soldiers in enchanted power armor, sort of like a magic-fueled combination of the Power Suit and Nanosuit

>first brother's army resides off shore in a facility in the ocean, sort of like MSF, to work as a global paranormal defense force, staying out of normal human politics and wars, but stepping in to stop the second and third's brothers wars, or attacks on humanity

>you are the first true Valor unit, known as Echo, based on the prototype, given a magical grimoire, known as an Armagas, able to conduct magic, convert it, control it, and more

>also the first to test a prototype weapon system known as the Matter Generation Engine (MGE), capable of reproducing weaponry found in the field (like Vanquish) without worrying about magazines, ammo, and so on

>the catch is, it requires energy to function, and must recharge

(may also include overheating for stronger weapons as well, but basically it's universal, recharging ammo)

>third brother's army attacks the first's, sending you into the dimension of space and magic

>there, you stumble upon a conspiracy to destroy the universe, uncover the twisted nature of the Valor program, and the child soldiers stolen/created to be led into it (like the Spartan program) and an ancient civilization trying to force their way back into the world

I want this to be a very open franchise that can have a lot of things from it, such as fighting games, first person shooters, and even urban horror shit.

Check out my ideaguying.

In not-Roman Empire, you are an agent of the law, which means you may lay claim on investigation of high-profile murders and get financial rewards from prefecture for executing the criminals. After you decide that you have enough evidence for one murder case, you have to convince local praetor on key details of how murder took place. Other agents will try and hinder your investigation and debate with you during accusatory speech to gain access to your territory of work, so you have to make them fuck off. If you've been a good boy and collected all crucial evidence + fingered all of the correct criminals + proved beyond reasonable doubt their involvement in each case, you get lore on how it was ancient evil that was influencing them to do the deeds in exchange of higher powers. The last murderer is your mentor, and you chase him into the sequel where you travel the world to stop him and other people awakening their powers.

You play as a gamer that is playing a game where you pilot a giant vehicle (you have a wide selection of chassis/skeletons for tanks, aircrafts, giant robots, etc and you can customize and tweak them in any way you can imagine) and fight with other players in order to reach the very top of the leaderboard and win a tournament so that you can get enough money for... A game where you can't die and there's no game over screens, no immediate checkpoints, only save game and you can't load previous saves (unless you fiddle with the console's data)
The goal is to know why you can't die, and at the end of the game you figure it out, and then you get the only game over in the game, post-game you can revisit your grave and replay old chapters or missions with good stuff or approach them differently

I'm thinking it could be a kinda open world game within closed zones on a moderately sized town, where it's always cloudy and with pine trees, where comfy fags would like to live

You get to read diaries, main game cutscenes and optional side quest have cutscenes too where other plots are explained, killing would be optional and you could have some minor spooky stuff in it

I've just realized that maybe I'm describing some Silent Hill type of game, weird 'cause I've never played them but that's not what I'm aiming for

Typical kind of jrpg setting and gameplay.
In the beginning everything seems kind of basic and generic but things start to get kind of surreal. Eventually random elements of other genres (sci fi, western, modern day) become intertwined in your world. Halfway through the game you discover the villain's actual goal, he knows the entire world is a videogame and is purposely trying to fuck the world of the game up to make the game unbeatable as he believes if the game is completed everything will be erased.

Well, figures that the one part I actually sort of elaborated on sucks. But yeah, I wanted mentor to be murderer who gets away with it from the beginning of several years period of ideafagging, because I thought it was cool. If you care enough about my fanfiction, you can read my elaborations under spoiler (whether they help or ruin more, likely the latter).
In one of the cases, another law agent is the murderer that you kill during his final stand. This event cracks yours and your partner's perceptions on the current system, with you knowing that through control of law every criminal must get deserved punishment and partner that the population is overly lax under law control and that only acts of violence will wake the heroism in hearts of people. During the similar stand-off of the final case, you can never agree or pretend to agree with your partner to get the upper hand because of your warped psyches. After he manages to get away (and you get a short talk with Ancient Evil in your dreams), you drop your agent authorities in your district in change of a hopeless hunt for a murderer, because you have really stopped caring about keeping order.

You're a alien that crash landed and Earth and desperately trying to get home. The government had captured you and you begin the game escaping from them.

You are an astronaut whose ship failed. You're stranded in space and eventually die to a loss of oxygen. Later you eventually wake up on a alien planet, unsure of if you have died or somehow survived. Being afraid you may still be alive you don't want to test if something can kill you. You take control of the astronaut as they wonder the planet to figure if they are dead or not and if there is a escape.

In my opinion the first one sounds alright at best, maybe have no weapons seeing as soon as you get one it stops becoming a horror game.
The second one sounds like a lot of work to properly implement maybe have hallucinations of some religious entities or something.

Take these with a grain of salt, because I don't really like the horror genre of games, in my opinion they either make player death not matter, give you a weapon, or it just isn't scary.

have a wall of text from my game's lore.

Humanity was living in peace when suddenly a huge meteorite landed on our planet, but It wasn't a meteorite It was a giant seed, the seed started to grow and plant it's roots in the planet destroying everything on it's way and spreading toxic spores along the way, the spores infected the living beings turning them into abominations at the service of the seed to further destroy all defense mechanism from the planet and it's inhabitants, the remained humanity escaped to far away islands where the seed's roots can't reach.

Humanity was also affected by the spores the ones that didn't turned into monstrous creatures still gained a strange ability, the ability to control the souls of their enemies, bringing them in battle as temporal warriors, physic manifestations of their soul at the service of those special humans.

Humanity now prepare to strike back at the seed using fire against fire, monsters against monsters, to recover what they lost to the seed and bring the world to it's former glory, they created the summoner guild a group of those humans with the special ability to work as exterminators, the system worked and humanity was able to expand, but as the years passed differences were made, the line between humans and summoners grow stronger.

Soon summoners wanted their independence from humanity, they wanted to take the summoners guild away from humanity, using it's power to make contact with the seed and make a deal of peace with it, but then the objectives of summoners and humanity collided and so "The order" was created, it was a group of both humans and summores that wanted to follow the plans of humanity and keep on destroying the seed.

As for now, the tension between the order and the guild increase everyday and war seems inevitable, all while the seed slowly expands.

You, the new summoner, that just graduated from the summoner academy will now have to pick a side, destroy the seed? or protect it?

Somebody give me a good game genre for this idea I have. I feel like there's potential, but I'm not sure what that potential is. Sorry for the huge fucking wall of text

New York City, 1960
A young boy drowns at the bottom of a pond in central park chasing after a girl who dove in during the middle of the night. You awake on a beach in the outermost regions of a strange kingdom that resides underneath NYC, the pond being a sort of gateway between the worlds. A fisherman finds you and fills you in on what's happening:

The kingdom's capital is a massive city called Mirrortropolis, the city of mirrors. The people of the kingdom hold mirrors as an item of significant religious meaning. It is commonly believed that one's reflection in a mirror is their true soul and acts as a guide to constantly better themselves. He tells you that you won't be able to return to your world through the pond, and venture to the city to find a missionary who would be willing to take you back to your home. He tells you that the journey won't be easy, as "corrupted" souls from the capital are exiled to the outer regions where they go mad and attack anyone on sight, even their own reflections.

Upon asking about the girl you followed through, the fisherman claims to have seen her last heading straight towards the capital, as well.

Your trusty partner who always stays by your side is actually you. It's cyberpunk setting and because of some shit, you and your partner's senses, nervous systems and motoric functions are transmitted to each other wirelessly. So it's basically one body's brain is receiving and sending input to another body. You realize this when your partner, who do you think is the player character, gets killed and everything goes to black, only to wake up moments later in your real body as your senses are automatically rewired back to the original body due to lack of input from intended one.

Ace Attorney-style adventure game with a plot/setting inspired by stories like The Westing Game or It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

You play a washed-up lawyer who is suddenly named the executor of the will of an old friend you haven't seen in over a decade. You travel to his estate to find his family and friends bickering over the will's contents, and when you read it you find that it denotes a specific sequence of events his inheritors must follow to claim a share of the money he's left at the end of the route.

The game is divided into episodes, following a persistent cast of around 15-20 of the possible inheritors that dwindles as they begin to murder each other, a la Danganronpa. Cases take place in cliched tone-appropriate locales such as a cruise ship or a masquerade ball.

The final case involves solving the murder of the man who left the will. After uncovering the murderer, they reveal that they've found the box containing the money and make a break for it.

After apprehending them and opening it, you find the box empty save for a decently-sized check made out to you. The old man knew his family was a bunch of assholes and spent most of his fortune devising a scenario that would make them kill each other.

>a wealthy man is building a hotel on a remote island
>he and his workers discover a cave complex, at the bottom of which he finds and activates a portal
>he, his son, and his men go inside, discovering what seems to be hell. A massive, grotesque creature resides there. People are tormented in indescribable ways.
>The creature tells the man that this is the only afterlife. There is no heaven, only an eternity of unimaginable suffering awaits every person after death.
>The creatures thrives on suffering, and wants to enter the mortal world because the suffering of the living is more potent to him than the suffering of the dead. He wants to cultivate humanity and turn it into his torture livestock.
>Opening the portal has weakened the barrier keeping him from entering
>The man sinks tons of money into occult research, and discovers an obscure, arcane ritual that can be used to re-seal the portal
>It requires the blood sacrifice of hundreds of people, matching certain criteria.
>He uses the hotel as a way to gather them, finding the right candidates and inviting them on a cruise to the grand opening
>The protagonist is a staff member on the cruise ship, and neither he nor the player know any of this yet
>At sea, the ship is suddenly swarmed by demonic-looking humans
>The protagonist learns that, while the hotel owner was overseeing things on the ship, his son performed another ritual to further weaken the barrier
>He believes that it's more humane to simply put an end to the illusion of life and the prospect of heaven; it's all pointless because they're going to suffer forever anyway, might as well get on with it
>The creatures attacking the ship are the crazed victims from hell
>Protag kills the hotel owner and his son and descends into the caves
>The final "boss" is the creature, who takes no damage and only makes half-hearted attempts to kill you because you are insignificant
>game ends when you die and the creature enters our world

I'm assuming you are the boy that drowned, yes? If this is the case you have to decide between an open world vs a linear approach. From there you can decide what genre you need. Although if it were me I would do a Puzzle/Platformer sort of game. Although I do have several questions.
1. What is the fisherman doing out there what is essentially the sea of the spirit world, fishing for men? souls? random junk?
2. How does a soul get "corrupted" ?
3. Why do you start at the outskirts instead in the city? To prove that you belong in Mirrortropolis? Pilgrimage?
4. Will you have mirror based weapons or nix it because you are in-fact a child?
5. Are there different religions for the mirrors and what they believe in/ do ?

Anyways I'll stop sperging on your story.

It would be set 20 or 30 years in the future and would be an rpg set in a giant prison that contains 50% of America's criminals. The game would be similar to New Vegas in that it would have no voiced protagonist and rich dialogue system and faction system.
Features would be this:
>You choose what you're in for with 30 possible crimes you could have committed.
>Completely customizable character that includes body-type.
>You get a bonus skill from whichever crime you committed. As you earn cash and progress you can buy drugs that give you special perks and abilities but you must keep taking them or else you will die of addiction or be weakened and have to get drugs to cure addiction.
>Multiple factions: Guards, Nigger thugs, Neo Nazis, Italian Mafia, Cartel, Triads, Terrorists, and more.
>Morality/karma system would be determined by the choices you make in side mission and story missions. The game is easier the more evil you are.
>If you become evil enough you can be a rapist but if your crime that got you in was rape you can rape from the get-go.
As for the actual story, it would be about how there was a massive terrrorist attack that destroyed 25% of the prison and is being rebuilt but because of disorganization many drugs are being trafficked through by construction workers etc. Many factions are vying for control of the drug trade and the prison. The story would be very open ended with you helping the warden or other groups or one specific group. You could destroy the contruction area and help everyone escape or you could escape by yourself or find a way to kill everyone. Or tons of other things.

It would truly be up to the player to decide what happens to the prison.

Also you spawn children after meeting the birb of your dreams.

Protagonist-bird is separated from its caretaker/family/etc, and has to survive by eating spiders/worms/etc. and building temporary nests out of anything as it travels across the land in search of them. Most creatures will kill you, some can be befriended like Pokemon, said friends can use items/weapons you retrieve (depending on what body-type they are), and night-time spawns a swarm of bat-like monsters that you'll have minimal survival against without a nest.

Late reply but good questions. Yes, you play the boy.

1. There might be several villages leading up to the city, one of them close to the sea which has a booming fishing industry
2. Should have clarified this one. In the eyes of the capital's religious leaders, a soul is "corrupted" upon commitment of a major crime or horrible misdeed, this person is deemed unfit to live in the capital city. A corruptible act can range from murder to inciting revolutionary acts. Not everybody living in the outer regions are corrupted or exiled, as such they are welcome to travel to the capital freely.
3. A pilgrimage, although not intended for outsiders. Missionaries must travel from the city through the entire kingdom to gain enlightenment on all walks of life and the punishment of losing your ways (facing corrupted souls) before they are "ready" to visit our world. What the missionaries do once they leave the kingdom is unknown because I haven't figured that part out.
4. It's possible. I'm thinking it could be interesting to see knights praying to the reflections in their sword's blades.
5. Several exist, although few are welcomed into the capital. A large movement is growing outside the city walls of a group that believes in the redemption of corrupted souls.

>you were violently ejected from a building from an explosion, dropping almost completely crippled to an alley
>the man who pulled you into the van introduces himself as lazarus
>he's taken you off continent to some friends who were able to save your life
>using some of his pirate broadcast equipment, he was able to decrypt portions of the data you were smuggling
>the files make vague mentions of a project Tai Yong Medical's Zhao and shadow conspirators were working on
>to decrypt the rest of the data and expose the conspirators, lazarus suggests the name pritchard
>your former employer bell tower has the man locked in a black site
>using your newly augmented skills, you must bring pritchard to safety where he can guide you
>as you progress, you globe trot in search of more clues and leads, learning of a monolithic shadow group controlling world governments
>as you place together pieces of the puzzle, your friend lazarus broadcasts it to the world in hopes of exposing people to the truth
>with the public becoming increasingly aware, governments and their true masters begin to lose control driving them to desperation

There you go, took me about 6 minutes to come up with a better Deus Ex than the Augmented White Guilt garbage they shit out last year and destroyed the franchise over.

I don't think the concept would go with a tactical shooter like Rainbow Six though because a ghost could just go through walls. Maybe if it were stealth like Splinter Cell and you had a suit that masked your EMF and IR trace.

The devs decided to push #blacklivesmatter and leftist politics in general. They bragged that their inspiration of Mankind Divided would be "augmented apartheid" and they even had promotional art with augs holding banners saying "Aug Lives Matter."

http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2016/08/04/deus-ex-mankind-divided-aug-lives-controversy/

The political left lost their shit and started a bitch campaign online. Meanwhile, the devs almost completely scrubbed Pritchard, Sarif, and Malik's existence so they could be replaced with Generic Dindu Pilotâ„¢ and Generic Sassy Sistahâ„¢. The whole game was just non-stop white guilt crap analogies to make you stop and say "wow, so this is how unfair it is to be an innocent person of color in an evil white dominated world, really made me think."

The end results were that the game was a monumental failure financially. Compared with the launch sales figures from Human Revolution, Mankind Divided was a joke. It received negative comments from butthurt leftist journalists and players who are tired of leftist politics in games alike. Square then announced that the sequel to Mankind Divided was canceled.

>world gets infected by alien mutagen that kills off most (~90%) organisms, mutates the rest
>remaining animals are now extremely tough monstrosities
>sentient race (call them human if you want) has magical powers given to them from mutagen, allowing them to fend off monsters despite the huge loss of numbers
>one problem - the mutagen inhibits reproductive capabilities
>research on the mutagen allows ability to remove it so that people can fuck
>but they lose the ability to defend themselves from the monsters
>society re-reconstructed so that those with the mutagen are the workers and defenders of those without the mutagen can lead and reproduce
>as a child you must choose whether you have superpowers or go through puberty
>mutual respect and symbiotic relationship between "mages" and "nobles", though tensions and conflict between the two are potential

dunno how to make ongoing plot out of this, whether it should be an rpg or a strategy game, or some sort of hybrid

pls dont steal, i legitimately want to use this for something
