Yes, because that is precisely how this game plays. The second you actually get firearms it just becomes a typical Bioshock game. Periodically approach cover, shoot anything that gets near.

Beyond the actual progression-based ones like the Lift Field, almost none of them are relevant beyond situation-specific gameplay matters. Guns handle the job just as well.

BioShock is a Shock game, so it has similar elements, but they're not nearly as welll used in BioShock. BioShock doesn't have RPG elements basically at all, since all your plasmids and tonics can be used by any character simply by finding them in the game or researching enemies, and there's no "builds" in BioShock, just whatever abilities you prefer to use. It's also mostly a shooter, and it's linear, and exploration is not nearly so necessary.

Also Bioshock is just so fucking easy, cuz the only enemies that require actual complex tactics/ability combos to take down are Big Daddies, whereas literally every enemy in Prey requires a deliberate plan of attack to be thought out or you're gonna get fucking hurt, really bad.

There's no Tommy Gun, grenade launcher or flamethrower, "firefights" aren't a thing because your weapons fill very specific niches and which one you use is dictated by the situation and what other abilities you have.

You cannot just blast through the game with a shotgun along a single series of corridors, it doesn't work like that, you'll get rekt by all the enemies that must SPECIFICALLY BE DEFEATED BY OTHER MEANS.

The Typhon powers are ALWAYS relevant, you're clearly not even thinking. How is Psychoshock not relevant? How is mindjack or machine mind or morph not relevant?
