One Piece progresses at like half a manga chapter per episode and typically has low-budget, undetailed animation. I can go on Sakugabooru to find all the best animated scenes. Why put yourself through that slog alone when you can read the manga in addition to it? It's like 17 pages every Thursday. See the series as it progresses. They're just gonna give the anime the Naruto treatment in the end and draw it out for 2 years with filler arcs after the manga finishes anyway.
