HoT boosts you straight up to 80 which is where all the fun content is anyway instead of relying on Raiding for your endgame fix they have world v world which is fun if you join the right realm and they have a good teamspeak most of that is who has the bigger zerg rush though PvE is fun no pressure on dps because you can't see other peoples gear it's good fun and really cheap to pick up.

Frequent balance patches. Having a soft trinity instead of a hard trinity, so you can have silly but awesome things like necromancer or elementalist healers. Make sure that you always need a group to do most things and rewards scale according to how many members your group has (less people means more rewards). Make it so that guild halls only require gold and not a fuck ton of grinding on top of that.

Honestly, apart from the obvious things like being able to jump and swim, I can't think of much else I would do to improve the Guild Wars 1 formula. Should heroes be a thing in this theoretical spiritual successor too? A lot of people in the community argued that it removed any point of playing with other people, because heroes were much better at doing certain things than humans were.

Dunno if it's possible or good idea but they could try adding some sort of verticality to the combat. Any sort of effect the environment could give to the combat would be great. I hate how most MMO combat doesn't really gain anything from the environment.

The original GW was the best MMO I ever played. I remember watching all the teaser and developer videos for GW2 being more hyped than I had been for anything ever. Game came out and I fucking hated it, never got a single character to 80 and stopped playing after a month.
