It's much more focused on combat and boss progression than Minecraft is. Entirely different games really. Also the building in Terraria is much better than Minecraft as well, which is pretty much all Minecraft has going for it.

If you're not opposed to isometric view, Age of Decadence of Wasteland 2 are both great RPGs. AoD especially considering you can have playthroughs where it's pretty much entirely different games. The only warning I can give past "It's isometric view so you might not be down with that" is that AoD is not a looker, but fuck it, the writing and choices are actually good in an RPG for once.

I like the Shadowrun setting/universe - the SNES and Genesis were some of my first roms - but the trilogy is just lousy by RPG standards.

I certainly expect a modern Shadowrun game to be better than a 16-bit Nintendo game - but for example, the only worthwhile mod for Dragonfall is a remake of the fucking SNES game.

Transformers is really fun but stupid short. Even by doing most of the optional stuff (sidequests, collectables, challenges and shit), I finished my first playthrough in 8 hours or so. After that you get "replay value" stuff like new game plus, new challenges, more equipment to grind, some secret boss to find, etc., but the game lacks enemy and environment variety to make that a bit less repetitive.
I still think it's worth the price right now, the combat itself and driving segments are super fun.

The gameplay is kinda fun but also imbalanced. Sometimes you just steamroll everything and sometimes you empty a clip into a gook's face and he's still standing afterwards. I've played 110+ hours of Banished, it is a damn comfy game, flaws are that you might dislike the 'no goal' gameplay, if maxing out a perfect town isn't something you consider a goal then I suppose you will get bored sooner than others. The music can get repetitive despite it being decent, just get your own music on. Finally, it can be damn stressful, despite comfort status, you can have shit towns that never make it past 12 people and you know its a goner, but once you get the hang of the mechanics then you can push past 200 citizens and beyond, but I think thats the most i've managed so far

Shadowrun Returns is kinda mediocre. It's slow, linear, short, and not really mechanically sound.

Dragonfall and Hong Kong are much better in all regards, but people start with Returns and get turned off.

I've also seen people say the Devs are SJWs, but I don't really pay much attention to that, so I don't know.
