This was harder than anything in Bloodborne.

He's not even that hard (disclaimer: knowing how to beat him simplifies things greatly) as long as you can quickly dispatch the dogs then fighting the actual boss is quite easy.

Otherwise going through him is only ONE possible route you can use, there are many.

Because there are better bosses in the rest of the game.
