Titans are just superpowered zombies. They are shit on their own but in swarms you have to line up difficult shots while also avoiding the other ones, which due to their size can outrun most.

Not to say he wouldn't survive. More like it depends. The BFG could miss compeletely and still kill it's target so given enough rounds Doomguy could handle it. The problem comes when he gets swarmed and starts running out of ammo. It's worse for most other vidya protagonists who can't keep up with Doomguy's speed. Anyone who runs below a cerrain speed and can't handle superhuman level punishment would just get stunlocked in place by titan stomps or instakilled by a bite.

The reason I question this is because I could easily see myself circle-strafing around a titan swarm killing titan after titan thinking "man this shit is fucking easy" only for one of the shorter ones to sneak up behind me and end it in one bite.

I think most vidya protagonists would run into similar problems. Titan's are easily killed individually or in single groups but once they get spread around an area if you aren't aware of where exactly they all are they could surprise you. Same shit that happens in zombie games, except the zombie is a regenerating giant.

Most protagonists would be instakilled by a titan's stomp or bite. Imagine a game of Left 4 Dead where you're by yourself and every zombie instakills you.

I remember really enjoying attack on Titan season 1 like 5 years ago, or whenever it originally aired, mostly for how threatening the Titans felt, but I just don't give enough of a fuck anymore to watch season 2.

Is it worth watching? They took way too fucking long to make a follow up. Same goes for other popular shows from the time like Madoka. These anime studios need to learn to milk the cow while its in its prime. Madoka didn't even have a manga that it was based off so they literally could have pumped out a new season every year and raked in the bucks.
