Just find one on the big R, they usually have populated servers unlike here. Their BB discord had a couple hundred people in it and the /vg/ one had something a lot lower, and barely anyone was trying to play.

Just play online. I don't know how people can be bothered to actually go to a physical place to play video games with strangers anyway.

I've been playing fighting games for about 8 years. I play Blazblue and some Guilty Gear and those games require good execution and timing. I've always played online. I'm not at a level where I can go far in a tournament but that's because I never tried to get to that level. We've had many online only players that made the transition to good tournament players but you don't need to be a top player to have fun with fighting games. All you have to do is have the desire to get better and the love for the game.

I spent 86 hours (give or take a few due to idling) on BBCF and I wouldn't trade any of that for time on any other game. I play against my friend who's really fucking good, and I get my ass beat a ton, but you know what? I learn something each and every time. Getting him to half health is a win in itself, and it let's me know that I'm getting at least a little better. If none of that appeals to you then that's fine, I get that not everyone wants to practice a ton just to get their ass beat by people better than them, it can be de-moralizing, and I still get pissed sometimes, but it still feels good to over come obstacles and all that uplifting jazz.
