Dark Souls 2 isn't bad. It gave the player enough freedom that it felt like they were making their own adventure.

Because previous games featured more variety. Where every encounter in DaS3, is simplified to rolling combat. When the combat in the games were never that great to begin with. Couple that with almost completely linear progression, and you have a mediocre action game, instead of a great adventure game.

I played 3 three different times with three different builds and they all felt boring in the same way. Definitely the worst in the series.

I put Demon's at the top because in my opinion there's not a single bad level. I really fucking hate the Depths, Demon ruins/Lost Izalith, and Duke's Archives in DaS.
DaS2 and DaS3 have equally shat on the series. At least DaS2 was a mistake but DaS3 was willingly made terrible. Super fucking linear, mimics everywhere, fuck ton of infinite stamina enemies, combat went full anime, terrible item placement, pvp focused, fucking "swamps" thrown in randomly for no reason, probably the worst looking character models, etc.

Bloodborne is okay. Great atmosphere, lore, and characters but the game gets significantly worse after Rom. Main game has like 2 good bosses (gas can and Gehrman), all the funnest weapons are DLC, and the level design stops being good after Forbidden Forest. That's early game.
