okay so it's not just me. i played a free trial, and this was exactly my thoughts. the time to kill is way too low for the cool movement to be much of any use. you actually get punished for moving around since everyone else has wisened up and camps now.

Maps have this clear in their design: it's a bunch of wallrunning platforms fully exposed cornered by covers where anyone can camp.
Secondly, you have perks ranging from invisibility to radar wallhacks, just palce it and wait for a sucker to bass by.
Engagements give no value to reaction times or running to go in cover: they're resolved in a couple shots as any COD (wow, surprising coming from ex cod devs)

For those who really want to learn how to play it's simple
Play through the campaign on normal first and have fun with it don't stress about it
Then replay on master difficulty and by the end you will see a huge difference in your gameplay
Population isn't that bad but be aware different platforms have different problems
Console has shit with the g2 and aim assist while pc has a problem with tap fire on the alternator
But the starting weapons are some of the best in the game
Most of my kills are on the car even after ascending to fun which is grenadier weapons
Play with friends and find a titan that suits you

They have to work harder to make projectiles work as they have to keep their momentum and altitude to do well. Just grab a R-201, CAR, or the totally not overpowered R-97 and if you have decent aim you should be able to kill them on a regular basis because you are using hitscan. Also many of the weapons you start with are the best in the game.

Everyshooter has potentially one shotting weapons. However, the only 1 shot no matter what weapons are the Kraber (projectile, maximum git gud) and amped Double Take (lasts 30 sec)
And, complaining about the Smart Pistol? It is a boost, you only get two mags, and as soon as someone is trying to lock on to you the game points them out to you. They need three seconds to lock on to you if you are not using cover, most guns in the game can kill you in less than a second. Why complain about it? If you break their line of sight the countdown resets.

The game has a minimap and death icons for a reason, anon. If you see skulls on the other side of a building, that means an enemy is there and you should keep aware, same for if the minimap flashes red in a direction, thats where the enemy is.

The only thing that is preventing you from doing well is your general aiming and awareness, veterans have only their experience over you.

True Scorch is in the worst position for titans overall but if you look at the datamined notes for Frontier Defense update next month Scorch looks radically different from the just general changes the other titans have. He changes so much that coupled with the community outcry for Scorch buffs it seems like he might get some of these changes in general multiplayer

Northstar, if Scorch was on more even footing with the rest of the titans would still be his nemesis. That said as Scorch you should never advance towards your enemy unless they are within dash range of your heat shield.

Scorch is meant for point defense, sitting in one spot and corner peaking with the launcher or flanking 24/7. It is oh so satisfying to come up behind a northstar and flame shield them only for them to dash into you three times out of panic and fail to run away.

Oh no yeah I completely agree with you there its just there are situations in which Scorch is 1v1 against NS (something that happens way too much, goddamn) and you can either wait it out, in which the NS can win the timer by health (Just takes pot shots at you) or you gotta come up to them, in which usually the map won't be in favor of.

I'll admit this is me being biased and going into titan fights as Scorch because more or less his kit is my favourite despite it being so counter-intuitive to offense.

Same, Scorch was my favorite since the tech test and played him almost non-stop. He is Gen18 currently but with how much he has been hurting, especially in LTS I am just rolling with my second favorite in Northstar. If Scorch keeps some of his changes from Frontier Defense in general MP I will reunite with the BBQ king.

The maps in TF1 are aesthetically and generally better but TF2's maps are much more consistent and not as cluttered. IMO it makes going fast a bit more regular throughout the maps. Maps like War Games and Angel City have transitioned well into TF2 but Relic is much different from anything else in TF2 currently due to its verticality and honeycombed design. It just plays so differently from the rest.

Looks like the slows have given up, this thread is property of /tfg/ now.

I don't know why but playing too much Titanfall 2 makes me really angry nowadays while Titanfall 1 was some of the most leisurely fun I had, win or lose.

It might be because my toaster can atleast run Titanfall at 60 fps while it struggles to break 30 with Titanfall 2. I can't go fast when the world looks so slow.

I'd disagree with that. I think tf1's maps offered more possibilities for smooth movement. And I liked it's cluttered design, I played tf1 again not long ago and found little parts/routes in some maps that I'd never seen before which then allowed me to be a better player by taking advantage of these secrets. Also not map related but I dislike how they removed regenerating shields from the titans.

Here is a link to a FNN where Respawn is showing how the future menu works with the private Respawn server, you can see the player count in the bottom right. That is the current menu in TF2. If they removed that player count from any of the platforms /tfg/ would be shitposting about it constantly.

If you don't believe me watch any recent stream of TF2 on the platform of your choosing and you can see the playercount there.
