I did all the quests, and frankly I wish I hadn't because 90% of them are the blandest breed of fetchquest imaginable. The pvp in this game still isn't good, especially since the only thing people play is Shatter which is by far the least enjoyable one. I don't get why the fuck anyone plays it. They now have two personal houses. One for their "Free company", and one for themselves.

I did Lakishmi ex yesterday and tried Susanoo.
Lakishmi is way easier.
She even gives extra cheating balls at the end when multiple mechanics come out at the same time.

Their neutral game is solid because of their dots, they have strong burst which can be brought to bear with little warning and very little ramp up time, and as a general PvP quality of life thing, they have a ton of damaging ogcds so its easier to ensure you get killing blows since you can saturate an almost-dead target with more damage.

Anyone else kind of pity Fordola? Of all the individuals in the story I feel like in a way her struggle is probably the greatest, being born in an occupied country, raised under the idea of being a "Garlean" citizen, taking up arms in defense on behalf of the empire that invaded and dominated her nation in a desperate and futile bid to prove that they're worthy of being accepted as members of that society. Almost every scene she's in it's pretty apparent that she's doing everything in her power to keep up appearances, to try and do "right" for herself and her people but ultimately she's just an expendable pawn in an uncaring war machine.

It's kind of noble with a very pronounced underscore of tragedy.

It's a gamble. You use it after you've already played your drawn, spread, and minor card. Sleeve draw and use your minor arcana and your drawn and held cards right when time your played cards expire if it's an expanded effect or just throw the drawn card on whoever can use if it's not. If the held card is a spear or resource card when no one needs it convert it into a minor. The only downside is that you can get something useless in your spread so some people like to have a good card held before sleeve draw. I like the gamble though and have gotten four single target balances up on the dps during a trial and a RDM's embolden window using it and in general it's great to just throw out so many card effects even if you get boles and arrows mixed in. So having a card ready you mitigate some of the rng but you don't get the full potential benefit of the ability

Both Ala Mhigo were exceptions to the rule. There are several quests that go over how certain provinces that were overtaken by the Garleans became much better off, both as a nation and for the people of that nation. You learn about a General from one of those happy-nations in the Aethercurrent side quest in The Peaks. The Garleans there are kinder to their subjects by a long reach. Ultimately it probably comes down to who the Vice Roy of the region is, as to how its original inhabitants get treated. Gaius for example prevented the use of chemical weapons against Eorzia because he didn't want to see people he saw as his future subjects harmed in such a way.

It just happens to be the case that both Doma and Ala Mhigo were ruled by literal fucking psychopaths, and the way the Garlean soldiers treated the natives reflected that.

Not much changed from 3.0 bard though. You still heavy shot by default, react to straighter shot procs and bloodletter resets - except 1/3 of the time now you're in a song that has a better kind of bloodletter reset (you can bank multiple procs), and 1/3 of the time you're in a song that has no resets at all so you get a bit of a break.

All these procs are much easier to weave now that everything is instant too, since you can weave 2 ogcds behind instant casts. Dots being 30s instead of 18 is a nice ease-of-use buff as well since you go longer between having to juggle them, and they sync up nicely to song timings which are 30s each too.

It doesn't have any visually unique gear drops.
There are a ton of locks you have to go out of your way to open otherwise you can't proceed, and half of them dump extra enemies on your party.

Quietus's DA effect was really obviously designed back before they nerfed the MP generation on Blood Price and never got revisited between the time they nerfed it and SB's launch. Same with the Dark Passenger nerfs and even the early-game Unleash shit.

I wouldn't be surprised if DRK's while AoE kit gets retooled before 4.1. Right now they've got like 6-7 options for AoE and none of it makes sense to use except non-DA AD, non-DA Quietus, and Salted Earth since its free.

I kinda liked Zenos, but I got a soft spot for those 'I live for a fight' speeches, and I feel the voice actor sold his pretty well. Obviously retarded to put him or Yotsuyu in charge of fucking anything, but the original emperor also just went full-on with Nael's "Let's use the moon satellite laser we don't understand to blow up Eorzea" plan too, so the Empire's not exactly got a stellar success rate for leadership.

We have Gaius, a man who saw conquering as a way to bring the less fortunate into the fold of the empire and enrich their lives, and who legitimately did not think less of non-Garleans. After Silvertear Falls he may have gone a little too far with working with black cloaked assholes and giving Nero carte-blanch with Ultima Weapon, but that's pretty smalltime compared to some of the other sciency bullshit all the other Garleans try to pull.

Regula seemed like a reasonable guy, who wanted to control the Warring Triad, but also came around to realizing they needed to be put down. Didn't really get much time in the spotlight though.
