I know Yokai watch is the new hotness but I'm really surprised it got in over Pokemon.
At first you'd think maybe "They want to bring out new characters and not stuff the world is already super familiar with" but then have Astro/Sailor Moon/Naruto and Goku.

I have to guess there's a lot more politics involved than them simply picking the best choice, Shounen Jump is probably the biggest manga publisher in the world, so it'd make sense they'd pull strings and get a lot of their characters in there.
