Barely true, especially when you realize that the shrines themselves never get boring.

Exploring isn't for some "payoff". You find all the shrines, find enemies to farm, and perform the 4 major quest lines before taking on Ganon. The world is fun to explore just by running, riding, and climbing. Most of the side quests are shit though and so are half the boss fights. I'd still give it a 9/10 though for world design, shrines/dungeons, and physics/gameplay in general though.

Completely untrue of course.

But there are 120 shrines and 900 koroks to be found.

You don't have to find them all but the shrines are like mini puzzle dungeons, completing earns you an orb which can be traded for heart pieces and stamina (much like additional content in ALL Zelda game but for some reason /v/ seems to complain about it) - just finding a shrine is a reward in itself because it act as a quick travel point.

The korok seeds expand your inventory, it you'll find loads without even trying that hard, similar to the gold skultulas from OoT but again /v/ feels the need to complain about it for some reason.

But the game has more content and sidequests than any other Zelda.

Just hold the power button down to turn it off. And then turn it back on again.
