ages has better puzzles
seasons has better gimmick
She's right, but they're both subpar portable Zelda.

Link's awakening is much better from the same generation.
Been a long while but I usually give the edge to Ages. Mainly because Seasons leans a bit more on Zelda 1 / LA stylistically, whereas Ages is a bit more innovative and original. Makes sense given Seasons' origins. Other points in Seasons' favor: Gimmick is used for more than patching holes. The Past world is easier to explore and less fragmented than Subrosia. Dungeons are a bit more memorable in Ages; the Mermaid's Cave blows the fuck out of anything in Seasons. Particularly its equivalent (Dancing Dragon Dungeon.) Also the inclusion of nonhumans (Gorons, Zelda) is a bit more meaningful in Ages than in Seasons, although that's largely preference.
Easy. Just combine them.

Ages, easily. The combat is piss-easy in almost all aspects so the puzzles need to make up for it.Also Ages is the only Zelda game that does a time-travel gimmick well

I like Ages more since I could see the change I was having between past and future. Also liked the idea of a rival hero in the Zelda series and Nayru.

Ages is Plot/Puzzle focus, Seasons is Action/Adventure focus. I personally like Seasons more, mostly because of Subrosia, but I haven't played them in a while.

>Subpar portable Zelda
Not really. They're much better than MC, PH, and TFH, and a bit bitter than ST and LA. ALBW is really the only one that beats it out.

I don't really like any of the portable Zelda's aside from ALBW and LA (Which I think is over praised.) I always thought Oracle of Ages/Seasons were particularly annoying games with stupid mechanics and gimmicks. They aren't the worst games I ever played and I wouldn't even call them bad, but having beat them once I'll never feel the need to do so again.

They're both meant to be taken as a single cohesive experience.
You're just cheating yourself if you don't beat Ganon at the end.

As a whole, I preferred Ages, but crash landing on that island of lizard people and losing all my shit is ten times more annoying than stalking that idol in Subrosia. I had flashbacks when you had to do the same thing in BotW.
