I miss TechTV
Then G4 took over.
Then G4 died.
Anyone miss those old shitty gaming shows?
X-Play, Morgan Webb and her enormous jaws and tits, E3 coverage. What a great time.
Everything started declining when Attack of the Show happened.
Every day I miss it. There was nothing comfier than grinding on Vanilla WoW at 2 AM with Cinematech in the background.
>gaming bigger than ever
>no channels dedicated to it
no wonder televisions dying
>>382082920
cinematech really caught my eye on a lot of games I'd never try.
X-Play was most of my childhood.
Shame to see what Sessler is now.

If you asked me years ago sure. These days so much time has passed by now from when it was ever good (arguably I'll add) that I don't really give a fucking shit about it anymore. It was shit for like 85% of the time it was ever a thing. That is an absolutely abysmal amount of time it has sucked OP. So yeah fuck that it shouldn't be remembered at all. We have far better shit to watch on the internet.
gaming tv stations died because youtube and streaming absolutely shit all over them. The internet shit on gaming news being relevant. Outside of said e3 or TGS, they had no reason to exist in the face of titans of the early 2000s like gameFAQs and IGN.
I do miss Portal.

Also this
Cinematech was comfy as fuck
I agree tech tv was the shit in its day. It was THE gaming channel.
Is there anything similar to G4/tech Tv nowadays?
Any good podcats/streams/etc that would fill the hole for tech and game news that doesn t include subscribing to a dozen blogs or youtube vids?
>>382085978
Not really. No one wants a one-in-all. Everyone wants to listen to their specific catered podcast shit. Or they inject it with their terrible personalities.
Or, lastly, sadly, there's frankly just not that much news coming out anymore. You have new game releases, occasionally a trailer, but at that point what do you say "oh there's a trailer up for X on youtube, go watch it"? Really? Do you try to hang on to the modern audience in your old age like giantbomb and try to turn your site into some sort of "premium" garbage? There's just not really room for an all-encompassing podcast, sadly.

I liked Cheat when they had that cheerleader as a host. The show was pretty pointless since I just went on the internet for codes but I watched it for the pretty host.
RAH! ANON LIKES TO HAVE SEX WITH TROLLS!!!
>>382082920
I've been trying to download a big torrent of shit from this channel for a long time
[Spoiler]noone has seeded it in years
>>382086278
fun fact, kristin adams was on american idol's first season. Also she's a tv host for gamestop tv now. You know those awful things played on loop in gamestop, on mute too. I saw her at E3 and had to do a double take at first, but I got her autograph eventually, we didn't get to talk much though, she was doing the rounds going to all the booths.

I learned a lot about computers from Leo Laporte's shows. Now I see he has a channel on Twitch where he struggles to make new folders in Windows 10.

>DUDE WALUIGI LMAO
>DUDE MEGAMAN GAMES ARE ALL SHIT LMAO
Fuck X-Play.
Anyone got that episode of Cinematech where they show a trailer for Black & White 2? It's hard to find any episode of Cinematech online, let alone a specific one.I was a poorfag, maybe like 13, didn't watch a lot of TV, didn't play a lot of games, and I had only ever played my old NES, Genesis, and Game Gear my dad gave me. I was at a friend's house, in his really cool big brother's room, G4 was on. It was on a big TV that felt like a movie theater compared to our TV setup at home. It was in the dark, when Cinematech came on and showed off the latest games. It was one of the most magical feeling video game related memory I have, just seeing that almost anything was possible.

Webb had the best tits, even my gf at the time wanted to fondle them. Sessler is a faggot.
>>382083950
Are you talking about the tranny porn he does on the side?
TechTV can't exist in this internet climate. TechTV was neat cause it was info that was super hard to get online. Now information is so easy to find and accumulated into sites like PCgamer that there's no mystery. There's nothing to discover, only to see announcements.
I'd compare it to games in general, being that you know what a game is, you know how it plays and maybe even spoiled on it's story before the game's even out. Back in the 90s-early 00s, you'd play a bunch of games without knowing a thing about 'em. The internet was fucking crazy. Machinima, programming, video games and online play. It was all being figured out. Now that it's figured out, it's really boring.

>morgan webb
>enormous tits
Not even in the slightest

MFW Kevin Rose shows up to The Screen Savers wasted as shit because he knows its over
those were sad times.
>tfw you will never comfy summers with G4 E3 coverage
>tfw you will never sperg the fuck out when new games are revealed
>tfw you will never be your dark room late at night with nothing but the warm light Cinematech showing off cutscence for DMC3
>tfw you will never sit down with dinner, waiting for the new episode X-Play
>tfw you will never be in the renaissance of video games when everything was still new and unexplored
Goddammit stop this ride I want to get off. Seeing G4 die like some roadkill clinging to life pains me to no end. 2006 was the beginning of the fucking end for the fun of video games related stuff for me.

The Screen Savers is back man.
