This here is the real crutch of the issue of why you're not having fun in OW.

I gotta say I do wonder how people make friends in modern games though. I haven't made any new friends since 2012 and those last few are from TF2. While I do have dozens of friends they are all from games in the early and mid 2000s. And that's not even counting all the communities I've been a part of that died over the years.

Matchmaking games rarely have you meet the same people so you just don't have enough experiences with them to bond.

Matchmaking is cancer. Servers are always superior. I haven't made 1 random friend in CSGO, OW Rocket a League, ranked or unranked, made about 12 friends in TF2 in valve servers and community servers. There's no where to just chill in other games in a half hour time limit, it's all objectives.

Servers have their own problems though. I certainly don't miss the days of having to deal with retarded mods and powertripping admins. Not to mention terrible maps and custom rules.

Still, I'll take it over the bot experience that is matchmaking. Especially in EU region where people don't even bother communicating due to language barriers. At least servers made it so that people who didn't speak English would hang around in French or German or Russian servers instead.

get a hobby. i've dealt with "clinical" depression my entire life and ptsd from traumatic childhood, and I've used video games my whole life to escape it all. around age 20 i started losing interest in video games and also started withdrawing from opiates and with nothing to distract me i began to realize how little i had going on, video games sucked and were boring, so i filled the gap with something else that interested me. for me it was literature, i love reading and writing.

look into art. visual arts, film, literature, culinary, whatever. if you're not passionate about your job and you have no family to care for, art can be very rewarding and fulfilling to fill the gap in your otherwise unfulfilling life. it doesn't even have to be art, just something you're passionate about. get a hobby, get a better job, or get a girlfriend.

I typically avoid team games be it console or PC anyway. In 1v1 I can laugh off smack talk or a salty message. In team games it's the whole damn match if someone bitches and God knows how long it last.
