She was less like Ripley in that game than she was in simpler games like Metroid II, where she wears Ripley's underwear also, which I thought looked nice. I never got putting her in boots, the armor is already pretty much her clothing.

Also, I still kinda wish that Samus actually had green hair and that her look outside of the suit was closer to Justin Bailey than anything, although I kinda feel like it'd clash against the Varia Suit too.

Low-cut panties don't belong on a woman, they belong on a little girl. They make hips look narrow and the body look rectangular. Like a child's.

The point of showing Ripley in those panties wasn't to make her look feminine, it was to make her look vulnerable and childlike. That's also why she's hiding in a closet from the monster and singing a lullaby to herself.

Those panties do not convey full-grown, assertive femininity. They convey immature, fragile femininity.
