Let's ignore all the /pol/ shit that doesn't belong on /v/ for awhile and discuss what WE want from the next GTA. Let's try and keep it civil. Disagreements are fine and to be expected. Here's a personal wishlist:

>Better crash physics
>Realistic driving (not as harsh as IV, but not as arcadey as V's)
>Single protagonist (or double, as long as both are fleshed out)
>If a female protagonist happens, hoping for Bonnie & Clyde-style gameplay

The entire North American Continent in 3D-Universe map scale. 'HD-Toon'/'pulp comic' art style (eg. TF2 concept art/portraits, Dishonored 1). Fully destructible environments, but it takes realistic force (eg. crashing a plane into a high-rise won't knock it over, but you could sneak in and rig key structural areas with explosives to bring it down). Exclusively or primarily first-person view.

Either all-in on being an MMO, or greatly reduced multiplayer focus. Either one, just so long as they decide from the start, because GTAO is trash.

I recently played Mafia 2 and while all of those things were a refreshing change of pace. I don't want to have to smash on the fucking breaks or speed limiter every time I drive past a cop hoping he doesn't clock me for speeding. It's immersive but fucking annoying as fuck and I see why it's never been in any GTA, because it would just be annoying as fuck. Look at how massive San Andreas was, now imagine if you had to follow traffic laws in that. A 30 minute mission now takes like an hour and a half because you have to obey traffic laws or fucking lose the cops every time you go speeding by them.

When I was younger I wanted shit like that but as I got older I just realized it'd be more of a nuisance than anything else.

I also don't think they could make a female protagonist work and I wouldn't want to see 70s LC either. In fact I want a completely different city never done before, I'm sure it's too late for that as they've probably been laying the ground work for the next game already.

THE REAL QUESTION WE NEED TO BE ASKING OURSELVES IS WILL WE EVEN GET THE NEXT GTA THIS GEN? I MEAN TECHNICALLY GTA V DROPPED LAST GEN ON PS3/XBOX 360, BUT THE "REAL" GAME CAME TO CURRENT GEN. SO WILL WE GET GTA VI THIS GEN AND HAVE IT PORTED TO NEXT-GEN AGAIN OR WILL THEY JUST WAIT UNTIL NEXT GEN, WHICH WOULD PROBABLY BE AROUND 2020-2021.

But it's a dumb idea as a concrete Mechanic. But a mode that allows you to autisitcally live in the world could be a fun addition. Just if only for the novelty. Like one of those survival modes in an RPG.
You need to eat, sleep, you need to go to the hospital/find a medkit to heal rather than sleep it off. Being shot is you get hit twice with a pistol and you're done, but so does everyone else. Obey traffic. You can't get into a head on collision and be fine.
Actually that's all too much work for something most people will probably play for like an hour.

I just think there might be a bit too many factors if you go too far, plus it's a different kind of game. Fallout already has that system. Whereas if you need to eat in GTA it's less "I have to ration this to last me til' I find the next food source" and more "Fuck it's been 20 minutes, I need to stop what I'm doing and drive to a fucking burger shot and go through the same shitty dialogue" and that's just if they only get as immersive as simple things like sleep and food. If they really go as far as you take damage for car crashes, nobody would want to do anything because cops would swarm you, you'd inevitably crash and then get shot once and die.
Unless survival mode has a more proportionate cop response system where they don't have gps with your exact location and you can actually evade police by staying out of sight/leaving the scene before they ever arrive.

No way. They were characters based on archetypes who go above and beyond the tropes of their image. R* would make their hooker protagonist stand out without degrading her for degradation's sake. I never said R* isn't outlandish, but they've toned down in the recent games. Compare the heists and gunfights of GTA V or even GTA IV, to half of the shit in San Andreas and it's not even close to outlandish. And this isn't even bringing up the outlandish shit we get in games like Just Cause or Saints Row.

I don't have it, obvs, and I've never played a GTA game. I played watch dogs but thought the main character was an asshole. Plus, you couldn't keep and customize a car, that's bullshit. I guess it made sense but it was still gay.
I REALLY want to race cars online or in a really well made single player.
The last real racing game I played was Gran Turismo: A spec.
That game was amazing but there doesn't seem to be anything like it that I can play on my Quadra.
