Anybody try replaying Super Mario Galaxy? I actually hate how Mario controls. Way too floaty and slow, so I'm really liking how Super Mario Odyssey looks.

I watched speedruns of Mario Galaxy lately and they're so fucking mundane, it's going to be real fun being able to do flashy stunts in a 3D Mario game again.
Mario Galaxy was amazing but the games were carried by their level design rather than Mario's sluggish movement.

It's probably still one of the most mechanically impressive 3D platformers.
They somewhat refined the controls in Sunshine but for the cost of having worse mechanics and much worse level design.

64's controls are still just fine. Just keep in mind there is a skill ceiling to actually utilizing Mario's moveset to go fast.

Yeah. I kinda wish they remade something else though, just so we could've gotten a Mario 64 remake on a newer console. Still great /comfy/ game, loved playing that on my DS Phat back in the day (that's what I called my DS so people didn't ask if I had the Lite).

Because that's the world system of this game I suppose? It's open world so you can choose what order to hunt the moons, which I think corresponds well with the theme of the game, which is travel.

Less waiting, less loading, more playing. Also from what we've seen it seems that at least 10 moons are available from when you start any given level, with more opening up after you solve the worlds problem. Putting you back at the Odyssey every time would cause drag.
