It's fine. It does exactly what it sets out to do, but the concept itself is inevitably going to get boring. Needs other maps.

update coming out literally tomorrow targeted specifically at the netcode and server performance. it's part of the big monthly updates so it's not some small patch. it should fix most netcode problems.

shite netcode, shots registering a full second after being made, little to no anticheat (just google battlegrounds aimbot, niggers are running with mere 5% detection rating). I have played games of garry's mod better put together than this, and it doesn't help the fact the lead dev jumped shipped when he promised to keep supporting the mod scene, riding corporate cock the moment he was approached by m$.

If you have friends yes. Solos are boring as fuck and the game is super buggy but it's fun for messing around with a group of friends for a few hours at a time and requires a lot less coordination that most other similar games you can play with friends.

If anything you should buy it now before it releases properly and they bump up the price

It's fun, kind of solves some of the problems with games like these with the shrinking zone forcing you to keep moving, but mmo-survival games like these will always be plagued by two problems: inverse ping scaling, and graphics settings.

Players with shit ping and graphics set to minimum will always have an unfair advantage against people with better computers, and there's literally nothing any gaming company can do to fix that sans barring the player from changing their graphic settings and locking out millions of potential players (which nobody would ever do) by requiring better PCs to run your game.
