Just got this on sale for 25$ and it's actually good. Why

because we were salty about all the episodic/online-always nonsense, but despite all that it's a really quality experience

It's exciting when you play an episode for the first time, but once you memorize the areas, you can take out everything without being seen. 13 years olds could probably watch a Let's Play and instantly complete missions for the first time.

They did an update months ago that let you use everything you've unlocked offline but you still needed to be online to level up, but now they've gone the whole way.

You mean Elusive Targets which is just a little extra thing that's tacked on to the main game? ET's and user made contracts are the only other things locked behind being online only, which you should expect seeing as the contracts are user made and shared by the community. If you live in a third world country with absolutely no internet access then you can still play a solid 90% of the game perfectly fine.
