Well, you COULD play them when said character leaves the party, coinciding with the story (there are points in the game where each of your party members leave and that's when their DLC happens), but most others will have completed the main story and then the DLCs (since the main story is more from Noctis' eyes.)

I recommend just playing through the story once, then doing the DLC. Makes for a more seamless main story.

I wonder if they'll expand more on another character that didn't had much screentime in the main game. If this is set before and during the event of Ignis losing his eyesight during the Leviathan attack, could it have someone like Caligo or even a surprise return of Glauca?
Gameplaywise, considering Ignis' abilities, maybe it will play similar to the Scholar class, having to find the weak spot of enemies before striking them similarly to Type-0's Killsight.

You know how driving at night would force you to stop if an enemy spawned in near you? You can just speed right past them if you've got the Type-D. You can also squish smaller enemies, which is nice considering you don't have to go through anything to get the offroad variant. It's available as soon as you head out to Galdin Quay.

I loved this game but I wish they'd use a different script for the subs when playing with Japanese voices. Don't want to have to read a localization written to sync up with lip flaps.

It can't be that hard, though. All the anime I've watched on DVD had subs follow a completely separate script from closed captions.

And the subs were illegible when I played XV, too. They only enlarged the font after I finished the game. BotW didn't allow changing the voiceover until after I finished it either, and I'm playing NieR now and the subs fade in and out too quickly… I'm very frustrated with the disregard on display here.

What are the odds that there is a GOTY version released with all these DLC packs included? I want to pick up FFXV but I don't want to buy it until all this content is out.
