The biggest problem with Dorian was he was a terrible foil for the Tevinter people. Their empire was one of the most intriguing things about the DA universe in the first game and Dorian is a pretty big let down from the angle of someone who tells us the ways of his people. As much as I liked NV, the writing was never stellar in the base game. It was just solid, and better than that of comparable games (TES, other 3D fallouts). The questing was well written, the characters and world just decent.

Where NV's writing goes from 6-7/10 to 9/10 is the dlcs. All are masterfully written in terms of characters, quests, and world. Most people just remember the writing as good because the games so old nobody has any excuses to not have the dlc anymore.

Dead Money only feels the most complete because it has a cohesive story. The gameplay is relatively poor, but at least it feels finished. Honest Hearts has a great setting and Joshua is a cool character, but the actual content is laughable, there's no real story, and it isn't fun at all. It's like beta-testing a mod that hasn't had the content added to it yet. Lonesome Road was a mess and we all know it. OWB failed in every way, from writing to story to characters to gameplay to setting. It's laughable when younger kids try to defend it as being "dark", as if some minor undertones somehow make up for the DLC being terrible.

I will never have my hopes crushed as hard as when i launched fallout 4, you get power armor 10 minutes into the game and a minigun. Fallout 4 was designed for retards who would rather play minecraft than anything even remotely related to fallout.
