I miss the more experimental games too, I figure they just found a formula and it worked. So they kept on expanding upon it. The demographic will always be the current kids so it's not like you gotta change it up too much for a long term audience.

Will they ever make another Lego City Undercover-style game? I bought it on PS4 and it's fun, but for the most part feels almost exactly the same as the licensed Lego game I played years ago. There's serious potential for a Lego GTA clone. LCU doesn't meet it.

Does anyone remember some of the weird Lego PC games back in the day?

One was this Legoland Billiund Theme Park Simulator thing like RCT. And the other was this weird Harry Potter sandbox game where you could literally go anywhere and do anything? No story, i believe. It felt like a giant tech demo where you could summon stuff. Kinda like Halo's Forge mode. I remember the castle from the outside, and the dangerous forest. Flying over the water surrounding the castle on a broom stick. You could visit the train station too. Really weird game, but it was sick as fuck.

The Lego Island games are fucking amazing. Alpha Team is another one I love. As for the online games I played the fuck out of Backlot and the Bionicle MNOG games. Junkbot was a classic too. Also the online Lego Island games. Fuck there were so many. I was obsessed with Lego as a kid. Fuck I almost forgot Lego Racers. The sequel was pretty shit but I loved it. Rock Raiders is dope as fuck when the AI isn't shit. Damn. The nostalgia is so sweet it hurts. Would do anything just to go back to that time.
