The ROMs available online are all of unfinished builds of the game, with the only one that feels even remotely complete only being beatable and not full of debug features due to a fan patch.
The fan patch uses a few original, fan-made assets that Nintendo is no position to be using, and even still has features that are obviously incomplete, like collectible Pepper Coins that... do nothing?
And if Dylan Cuthbert, who worked on the game, and also had a chance to play it while developing Star Fox Command, is to be believed, the full version has many features not present in the ROMs online.
It would be very odd for them to not simply release the finished version they already have.

F-Zero, Punch-Out and Metroid are awesome too.

Loved the Mega Man X series. My favorite is X3 so I'm a bit bummed but I know people usually prefer the first one so it's a nice choice anyway.

Contra, Castlevania, FF and Secret of Mana are great third party titles. Probably the best third party titles on the SNES. Street Fighter is great but dated. Same with GnG.

Super Mario Kart also seems a bit dated. Probably going to play it for nostalgia.
