This man has purposefully used artificial scarcity tactics since he became Nintendo of America President, and most of you are too dumb to realize it as you continually make up excuses about how "they'll learn for next time." Reggie doesn't need to learn anything about his shady tactics, but you do.
show me where that's outlawed in the constitution. i'll wait
Why would he do that?
>>381945520
That's obviously not the point, kiddo. You're letting Reggie's meme status blind you to how awful he's been to you and how often he just spews bullshit.

Headlines and market mindshare.

>they want Wii U owners to buy/play splatoon instead of watching it
>they want people who follow them on twitter to watch people play splatoon to try and get them to buy it and a Wii U
How is this so hard to understand?
>>381945993
But he's right its not fun to watch, the only excuse for watching a stream would be learning a competitive game from people better than you, or to see if a game is dogshit before you buy it.

except selling units = more money and that's the whole point of the company
opinion btfo
This guy represent everything wrong with nu-nintendo

Riddle me this:
What does Nintendo (!) gain by, say, producing only 10k SNES classics and sell them all at MSRP rather than producing 20k SNES classics and selling them all at MSRP?
Both would sell out.
What does Nintendo gain here in your opinion? Do they somehow benefit from scalpers selling it on ebay for 200 bucks? How?
>>381947682
High demand and low supply can be far more valuable than a few more sales. Look at how the NES Classic has stayed relevant as "that unbuyable Nintendo thing." It makes the company look special AND it ensures high demand for the follow-up SNES Classic.
In your example, the difference should be between allowing SNES Classics to sell out or producing so much that they're stuck on Walgreens shelves with the unwanted Sega plug-and-plays.
>>381947682
This isn't even a riddle, why not produce as many SNES classics as the market demands
>>381948001
I'm pretty sure there is a middle ground between only 1 in 10 people who want one even being able to buy one or making so many that they forever haunt the shelves of stores worldwide and build up dust until they're in the garbage pyramid for 5 dollars.
I'm also pretty sure that Nintendo could always gauge initial demand and react accordingly, producing more in batches until sales slow down and demand seems largely met.
>>381947682
people wouldn't care if it wasn't scarce
stupid nog
>>381948345
That's idiotic and you know it. No one I know gives a fuck about whether the nes or snes classic is "rare", they just want to buy one without giving a scalper 200%+ for it. That's it.
This is no "UHHH A LIMITED STATUE ONLY 1000 WERE MADE HELL YEAH NEED THAT BRUH"
>>381948514
>they just want to buy one without giving a scalper 200%+ for it
yeah and most people who want one wouldn't care about it if you could just walk into a store and pick one up
>>381949007
No, that's retarded and so are you.
>>381949081
literally the same thing happened with yeezys, but hey, you're an underage retard with no understanding of marketing ;)
>>381949158
yeezys are in no way, at all, the same thing or even remotely comparable
I'm going to stop replying to you now before I lose more brain cells reading your inane garbage.
>>381948514
There are an endless amount of articles you can look into googling stuff like "how low supply can create high demand." It's true that the type of gamer who might post here wanted an NES Classic regardless of their low supply, but that is definitely not the general market reacted.
>>381945310
This myth has been proven wrong at nearly EVER level and only propogated by console war shitposters.
>>381945310
Implying that Reggie is the mastermind behind all Nintendo's market strategies rather than just a meme and a mouthpiece
>>381949242
you're a retard
>>381950208
This man saved Pizza Hut from bankruptcy. Do not trust him as just a meme and a mouthpiece!
