No, may as well keep it until it croaks. I bought an 8gb rx 470 for about £175 on a bid, I can confirm very few games push past 4gb at 1080p without needing a processor in tandem that is very expensive.

An RX 580 is about on par with a 980, maybe a bit better depending on the game, so no, I wouldn't bother.

The only upgrade I would recommend, considering the card you have, is a 1080. But I wouldn't recommend it, honestly. Just wait a year for the next cycle and consider upgrading then if a good game comes out.

As far as dealing with PC hardware goes, I certainly am above you. You could chalk it up to a faulty batch by a shit manufacturer if it were a singular case, but it was not. Throught my entire time with the IT, it was always the fucking AMD Gpu's that shat the bed, every single time.
