The first Harry Potter book came out 20 years ago, how is there not a Harry Potter mmo out by now?

Because Rowling hates games, and only barely gave the license out for the money.
Also, it would require her doing more than constant patchjobs at Pottermore and Twitter
>>
Wizard101 exists
>>
>have to go to class
>10 points from Griffindor
>can't bang Hermione
>most teachers turned out to be Death Eaters, werewolves or simply horrible people
>man eating beasts eoam the schoolyards
>fucking Malfoy

Pls no

I think you're forgetting about the excellent PC games for the early books.

there was a harry potter MMO planned, it was covered in an issue of one of those cross-platform gaming magazines. i don't think it was game informer, but it had "game" in the title.

honestly, i don't think it would work out well as an mmo, mostly because of the classes... it would be too much like a chore if it were going to be in any way representative of hogwarts

Harry Potter and the FUCKING WIZARD

I class that as a fire and forget cashgrab that happened to be good, not that Rowling cared for it being good.
It was in that weird era when EA was actually making good games.

I'm not supposed to leak this but here it goes: Bully 2 takes place in Hogwarts.

Zootopia is better than the dullest movie of 2016? Seriously each act following the boy samurai and anthro pals as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gorgeous imagery, the movie's only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of storytelling, all to make magic not magical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Knight vetoed the idea of himself directing the movie; he made sure the movie would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody? Just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion by a shoe company. The Kubo movie might be weeb (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-Disney movie in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

>a-at least the animation was good though

"No!" The animation is okay; but the pacing is off. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a banter, the author concentrated on it more than on action.

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that banter was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Knight's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Kubo and the Two Strings by the same The guardian. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are watching Kubo and the Two Strings at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to watch Zootopia." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you watch "Kubo and the Two Strings" you are, in fact, trained to watch Disney.
