The console being new actually helps sales. People who bought the switch have such a small library of games that they will be funneled in to buying a few select titles. It's no surprise then that they get ARMS, which looks like a 6/10 novelty flash of the month streamer game.


If ARMS came out 2 years into the consoles life cycle, it wouldn't sell nearly as much, nor would it be getting this much attention or praise. Comparing it to games like Tekken is wrong as the markets for both games are completely different.
