Kingdoms is like a offline wow, interesting but got boring after a few hours.

Unbox is a cool 3D platformer.
Wuppo is a cool experience in general.
Defunct is a neat open world sonic clone.
Mark of the ninja is dirt cheap.
Ground zeroes for those who haven't tried it or mgs5 yet.

Still looking for hidden gem(s) that I get for under $4. Needs to be able to run on a toaster.

Notes: I have nearly 800 games on a nine year old account that I can't play due to firing my rig. Also have most good bundles from over the years. I remember when every Humble was exciting.

On an unrelated note: Any Silent Hill fans? I need that image of Harry holding a mug that says "#1 Dad", please.

Posting this on here for new people:

Mafia 3 is $15. I'd recommend it. It's buggy and kind of silly, but the story has been decent so far, and the gunplay is actually great. Just like Mafia 2, the shotguns are the shit, and they animate especially well for shotguns alone.

I really don't recommend buying the directors cut of DXHR. It introduces bugs, looks worse and forces you to play the awful DLC. You should buy the original version from a keystore instead, can't do it in steam directly anymore sadly.

ZTD does to the franchise what the second half of Farenheit does to the first half of the game.

For dirt cheap you can get metal gear rising, mark of the ninja, xcom enemy unknown and ground zeroes if you're a madman.
>>
>>381882003
ZTD isn't as bad as that previous anon was saying, but it really is the weakest of the 3, and a very shitty ending to the cliffhanger the 2nd game had
I'd definitely recommend the Nonary Games, but maybe buy and play that one first before you commit to buying ZTD as well

DXHR Director's Cut is a mixed bag, but not completely bad
It fixes up the boss fights by giving you multiple ways of tackling them, including options for stealth oriented runs to not get shredded

Also BL2 may have cringy writing, but I never got into the first game and enjoyed the second game

Yeah that's the only positive aspect of the DC. Not worth it in my view though, I just use two typhoons with every boss instead and they're done for.
>>
>>381882414
As someone who played the original and director's cut, I prefer the original simply because of the piss filter. Funny too because I remember hating the piss filter when I first played. It just feels wrong without it.

Started Princess Maker. Sunk quite a few hours into it, though the combat is godawful. Glad I bought it though since life managers are one of my favorite game types. I always do exploring on mute to silence that annoying screaming. And the translation is really weird. Took me almost a year of game time to realize "Morale" is "Moral." Those are very different things. I'll probably play it once - maybe twice to turn my daughter into a prostitute, but then move onto 2. May even try my hand at making one if my art ever improves. What would be the best engine to use? Part of me thinks RPG maker would be great for making a Princess Maker clone.

It got a handful of free updates through its first year, including car customization and racing. Honestly, it's your typical open world third person shooter, but I enjoy the setting, the music and the combat; it's brutal and shooting feels good.

The meat of the gameplay is you taking over the town and handing it over to underbosses for upgrades and boosts. There's a pretty good collection of guns as well.

House of the Dying Sun is really short. like, REALLY short. It's pretty as hell and the fundamentals of the game are good, but there's just no content. it's maybe an hour long.

AoE2 is great, absolutely classic RTS. AoM is good, interesting modification of the AoE2 concepts but a lot more broken unfortunately. AoE3 looks nice but the gameplay drives off a cliff with the entire RTS genre locked screaming in the trunk.

As a seasoned player who enjoy HOI 2, I don't think that the Paradox Plaza CEO is right with his DLC business model. Milking popular games with DLCs which will cost games 20x more than the baseline is only working for hardcore fans. That's not how to grow business with more than 200 employees which depend on the DLC incomes. As for myself, I think I will drop the idea to purchase EU IV with such as insane total cost.

No, you can thank Steam being a shitty service that doesn't want to devote any resources to consumer rights that are legally required in most countries. The refund system is automated unless you're outside the window, so if they really wanted, they could secretly extend the window a bit during sales to ease their human staff, or they could buy another couple servers to handle all the requests.

Valve has the highest profit to employee ratio in the world. Yet they never spend a dime on it on actually improving infrastructure or making customer experience better. Blame Valve, not consumers that want to not be treated like garbage.
>>
>>381881758
Botanicula and Machinarium are two really charming point-and-clicks and you can get them both for just under £4. I assume they would be able to run on a shitty laptop.

Rivals of Aether any good? I don't want to go full esports on it, I just want a casual competitive game I can jump into from time-to-time, like rocket league.
>>
>>381882863
EU4 is the most boring shit but easy to get into. You're getting jewed by the DLC since they add little to the game and it's still shit even after half a dozen of those.

CK2 is a masterpiece and while some DLC are a bit overpriced, they add onto an already great game which makes them worth it.

HoI4 is okay-ish, but I'd wait for a complete edition, since they are being very greedy and no good sales on the DLC.

No I won't, the reason there is no flash sales is because people who bought the game on sale but not on the flash sale would demand refunds and be bitches about it, they should just accept it.

If you go to the market and hear afterwards that the thing you bought actually went on sale for a brief period of time for 20% less you would not get your money back.

What? As long as you're in the return period, you absolutely would. At worst, you'd have to return the item and re-buy it. Most people just don't bother when they have to physically go into the store and complain to a real person, especially in cases where you need a receipt.

Im considering these and I only have 15 bucks on the fun wallet

>Caves of Qud

the soundtrack is really cool and the setting is interesting, but im concerned about the depth of this game compared to other roguelikes, wich is a complaint I´ve seen leveled against it multiple times, and the updates, while frequent, seem rather shallow

>Necrodancer + amplified
>Sunless sea+zubmariner

I like the idea of the moving to the beat on necrodancer, and I´ve wanted to sink my teeth into it for a long while, but Sunless appeals to me in terms of writing and setting

>Dominions 4

4X with autistic tons of depth? sing me in. but Im used to play these games singleplayer, and other anons tell me the AI is lackluster, dont know if Im actually going to spend all that time on multiplayer

>SHENZHEN I/O

I love Zachtronics games, but I have yet to finish spachechem and infinifactory, dont know if I should let this one sitting until I finally get to it

>NEO scavenger

sounds like something I would like and its cheap

>Voidsphere tactics

seems pretty solid for a FTT inspired indie game, not many of those around

>Dream Quest
>Jets n Guns Gold

Im a sucker for games that look ugly as my sorry mug yet are deceptebly good once you play them

>Warband

I should have bought this one ages ago, the modding scene seems great

>Recettear

not sure if I should give my money to Carpe Funlgur

>Desktop Dungeons

not much to say, looks cool

Super fun space sim. Can get boring/tedious for some people. Theres a lot of "grinding", so its better to look at it as playing for the fun of it with an objective in mind instead of "get as much money is as less time as possible for the next ship" etc.

Yeah, you get some decent DLC that feels like proper content, but they're also charging for things like cosmetics and music that should be PART OF said larger DLC. No, you just implied them. I mean why else would you want games before 2006, when there are games that came out after 2006 that aren't indie and don't have microtransactions, the two things you seem to want to avoid. Why the arbitrary year limit?

>>381893983

Because it increases revenue. Developers are in charge of what price they set it at, Steam just says like "hey, were having summer/christmas/easter sale, so be sure to mark your game down for the sale if you want to participate. Some devs feel their game will still sell well despite being at full price, (PUB makes sense, Factorio doesn't.)

The kind of parents who let you live and eat in their house board-free also don't let you slum away your life in bed for 3+ years without trying to get you some help.

I had depression and I still could follow something as basic as Steam Sales, so I don't see "that's not what depressed people think about" as a valid argument. I also just don't take it as a valid excuse for missing that many years of Sales.

because its easier to put your game on sale on Steam, than consoles. Also Steam increases exposure so devs are more likely to put their game on sale on Steam, also as a Steam dev you get access to like 3 or 5 (some number I forgot) bumps, which basically means that that Steam will put your game on the front page to increase exposure.

Why are Insurgency cucks so desperate to shill that game? Is it because fucking nobody plays the CS/CoD bastard child?
>>
>>381896125
Sure.
The areas are huge, so you have more options for stealth.

Grab 3 though if you haven't played it already.
It is cheaper and a good indicator of whether you will like 4.

Typing of the Dead is hilariously bad.

Its pretty good. Combat is fun but easy, All the characters are cold steel the edge hog worthy but they have enough sense not to make them too serious.

Also pirate shota kidnapping and cannibalism.

IMO it's a little overpriced, it still has some pretty archaic features and the combat while it isn't as simple as it can look at the beginning it's still very simple. There is a demo, but it doesn't show the combat very well. I'd suggest you to pirate it, play it until you are sure about what you think about the combat and then decide.

I don't think I've bought a game in at least 5 years or so. I can't afford it.
And it's not even that I want any expensive game. Like, the most expensive game in my wishlist right now is like 5 bucks.
>>
>>381897501
Pathologic is good though
>>
>>381895752
There's no definite best in the series, even the top ones have some flaw. That said its easily one of the top and the best the series has seen in over a decade.

Flawed but fun combat, amazing characters that deconstruct all the known anime tropes, something rare for this series, typical anime graphics that arent amazing but do their job nicely, easily 80 hours if you aren't a speedrun autist and take your time with it. As usual don't expect anything out of the OST, Sakuraba is a hack.

A good example of a good idea, bad execution.

If you think it's going to be Terraria with a corporate focus and mechanization, you're wrong. It's a set of pre-made levels (30 or so) which only take ~10-15 minutes to win, and it isn't so much "automation" as it is "helpers" AKA you cannot reliably set up a production line that will not collapse.

Yes you can set up the thresher, the dog, the carriers and the network of throwers but in the majority of circumstances, the carriers are going to pick up ingredients before the dog can replant it, your thresher is going to cut up everything, and when the day ends (which is a retarded concept that fucks more things up than it helps), all of the unplanted material is going to disappear and your automated garden is now fucked.

Here's what actually happens.
>Pick the three most common ground-based ingredients (which is pretty much always G/B/P Mushrooms, roses or grass).
>Make your base into a straight line with rockets at one end and soup machines at the other.
>Six soup machines based on what ingredients you picked; let's say you took G/B/P Mushrooms; GG/GB/GP/BB/BP/PP
>Have a single garden with those three ingredients, and a anti-grav tunnel that throws the ingredients up onto the rocket/machine level.
>Carriers on the top level automatically put ingredients into soup machine and soup into rocket.
>Every single level is you waiting for ingredients to grow, throwing it up the chute and getting paid.
>If the market ever says not to use X ingredient, just stop harvesting it.
>Go up to fend off the obligatory attack from the AI. The combat system is frustratingly annoying. Your only real weapon is a sword and all the enemies hover at your jumping height.
>Finish the level in 10 minutes, proceed to next and do it again.

The concept is crazy good, but the game itself is ass.

SoM is not all it's cracked up to be.
>>
>>381897879

I'd emulate it, or better yet, just get the HD version on PS3/Xbox for the same price. if you dont want to, you can use mods to fix most the bugs. Otherwise you have to remove most music.
