So Drew Karpyshyn is back at Bioware and working on Anthem.

Also, the game director is Jon Warner who was responsible for the ME3 multiplayer mode.
Could this become the first good Bioware game since Mass Effect 1/2?
No, from what we've seen it already means it won't be good.
I'm expecting an ancient evil awakens plot
>>381877483
>good
no
>Bioware game
Haha no
>>381877483
problem is they have EA deadlines and EA support.
>Bioware
You already have your answer, and now you're asking if it's good?
Let me rephrase your question;
>Does shit smell like shit?
>muh darkmatter plot
it had foreshadowing throughout the series but it was still shit
I would be interested in a game he's writing, If it wasn't a multiplayer designed loot and shoot game.
>>381877483
Nope, it'll flop
>Drew is back at Bioware
HOLY SHIT
ONLY REASON I LIKED MASS EFFECT RETURNS
his books were dope
>>381877483
Oh I see how it goes. They'll make a solid 8/10 game with Anthem, then everyone will be LOOKS LIKE BIOWARE IS BACK BABY, GOD BLESS DREW AND JON. Then they make 2 dogshit cash-in sequels to it, discard the IP restart the cycle making a new IP with some famous devs coming back for the first entry.
I mean that's how I would do it if I was a hook-nosed vampire looking to bleed some cattle dry.
>hate modern bioware
>love karpyshyn
WHAT DO I DO
Possibly although I don't have a lot of faith in the people who's hiring practices led to them shitting out andromeda.
>>381878334
You accept the fact that the game won't have a story because it's an online shooter.
>Karpyshyn
>author of the Revan novel
You all niggas better be joking, he's the fucking worst
>>381878314
>Sequels
You forgot three years of expensive expansions before that. Might even shoehorn some gacha/loot box to add ingame purchases for extra gesheft.
just fukken make the gameplay and customization good
>>381877483
>bioware
when all your company heads and lead developers and writers leave and get replaced by EA suits, then slowly your workforce leaves and is replaced by weird diversity-creatures
is that really still "Bioware"?
>>381877483
Drew is a fucking hack.
However, from what I've heard ME3 and ME:A had actually pretty good gameplay. People really praised ME3 multiplayer. Maybe that's what Bioware needs, they can't write anymore but they can make a fun shiny MP game with powered exoskeletons and a bunch of sci-fi weapons.
>>381878659
I'd be amazed if you can jump straight off the platform and freefly to those waterfalls.
I'd be even more amazed if all that jungle is actual jungle you can explore.
>>381877483
>Nu-Bioware
>Good at anything
Pick one
>>381878782
>muh
>open
>world
>>381879230
For an MMO you'd better hope it's open world and not just a bunch of corridors.
>>381878659
>2017
>>381879440
thats xxboxx checkerboard
>>381879230
If it doesn't have open world, what exactly does it have that Destiny doesn't have? Destiny does have jetpacks, remember
>>381877483
>Anthem
Wut?
>>381881921
did you miss E3?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EL5GSfs9fi4
>>381877997
Why do you like shit writing, anon?
>>381882083
>did you miss E3?
Yep
>video
Is that Religion of Peace: the game?
>>381879314
>MMO
Why is everyone saying this and comparing it to destiny? It's drop in co-op.
The company is garbage to it's core, him working there won't make any difference unless he has total control.
>>381878782
Given how Dragon Age: Inquisition turned out, yes you will be able to. The problem is that only like 10% of the quests in that game at most were any good, the rest were MMO tier shit. At least in Anthem MMO style quests make more sense because it's an online game but it still doesn't bode well.
>>381877670
This is post ancient evil awakening. Just like Destiny.
>>381882183
It's all comparative. Even Karen "Shave the Wookie" Traviss, William C Dietz, Greg Bear have seasons of good and bad. Drew just has more good than bad when it comes to vidya
>>381882497
I'll give Bioware two points, the biomes in DAI were large and gave the player plenty of freedom. And the final mission in MEA, the assault inside Meridian was the only open-environment linear level, besides the tutorial planet, and it was the best experience in the game. If they can combine those two, and actually come up with satisfying gameplay they'll do better than The Division, I don't think anyone is going to take out Destiny.
>>381877483
Oh boy, I can't wait for this game to set up an interesting world and overarching plot and then have the sequels abandon all that with a new writer
I'm a sucker for Destiny-like mmo's like The Division and such so I'll be playing this nonetheless

>starting development when you see trailers you hope will be good and then ripping them off; the game
>good
