Well they sort of are. The point is that with such a currency the makers decide what the max amount of currency whatever available will be. Some release it over time and some did it in one go; meaning with Bitcoin: we know how many bitcoins will be brought into existence, the amount is gradually being released by mining and whatever. This is what also stimulates the market and they are about half way to the max numberwise I believe so we have a long while to go still. Other failed currencies went to the market and simply said we have 5000 coins now buy and trade for money, it simply doesn't work that way. At least I believe this is how it goes. Most people just buy them from an in between party anyways, no one really mines anymore.

Lol yup, pc is DOA atm. I basically hassled my brother to sell his gtx 780 like a month or two ago before its worth practically nothing and to either buy a 480 or 580. I have a 780 too but it's watercooled and I lost the screws for the stock heatsink, else I would've sold mine too.
Based on my sellers history on ebay, he could've sold the new card for at least 500 bucks slightly used, 700 if brand new. Saw some guy sell 2 580s for over 1200 bucks.
