What's the best deal you've ever gotten for a video game? Where and when?

Free give-aways count, I guess, but there's no point in saying "durr I pirated dis game" because everything is free in that case and it's not an interesting discussion.

Also keep in mind that the percentage of the discount isn't everything. I've seen bundles that were 99% off the retail price but full of nothing but actual shovelware.
>>
I pirated the Witcher 3

Managed to get a copy of The Saboteur on PC for $5 from Best Buy
Got Serious Sam 3 from a previous summer sale for $3.40 thanks to some coupon for signing up for some shitty gaming social network
Found a working copy of Call of Duty 2 lying in a gutter
Went to a barcade about a month ago and someone left about 8 credits in the SF Rush 2049 machine
>>
I got an original copy of Wasteland, still in the shrinkwrap and original packaging, for 5$. Mind you this was in the late-2000s

Dead Space being in the $1 tier of a Humble bundle was pretty nice.
Dead Space 2 was in another $1 bundle.
Dead Space 3 was in the same bundle as the first game, but it requires Origin, so I never played it.

They also had the Alan Wake series as a pay-what-you-want game in one of the "weekly" bundles they used to do, so I basically got Alan Wake and American Nightmare for $0.01, which is pretty fucking rad. (However, I already owned it on Steam where I paid $10 for it, which was an okay deal at the time, but not amazing. I just wanted the Humble copy because it's DRM-free. So if Steam goes offline someday, at least I'll have that.)

>>381837035

They're pretty okay. I go there for candy, because the same shit is always more expensive at other stores, and those other stores are farther away. Unfortunately, my local Dollar Tree is pretty ghetto on the inside despite being in a nice area.

Dollar Tree seems to normally attract a ghetto population, at least in my area. There is a new one built by my school and I like it because the aisles are wide with plenty of room.

As a povertyfag, I bet you're also stupid. Unless it's literally things like toiletries or off-brand chips and soda, you're actually wasting money. Their products are way smaller in ounces to the point where you would be better off buying at a place like Winco. Their produce is shit, and quite frankly, a lot of the stuff they try to sell is very near expiration date.

$3 for Madworld at Gamestop. Used, but with the original case and everything. Also, in that glorious time period around 2002 before collecting blew up, I got a bunch of NES games from a local Funcoland (nothing very rare, but also nothing was more than a few dollars at most) before it turned into a Gamestop, which is where I would later buy Metroid Prime on some holiday special for $5.

I check the ounces on the candy I buy there, so I know it's the same shit for more money in other stores.

Aside from that, I don't actually see most of Dollar Tree's goods in other stores at all. At my local one, at least, half the store is full of random cheap party favors and shit that you would only find in a dollar store (or in a Party City for at least five times as much money). Then there are toiletries, like you said, and there is some bullshit that probably isn't a good deal, like small containers of ice cream.

As for off-brand snacks: Last time I was there, I saw something identical to these. The box was approximately the normal size, too. I didn't buy them so I don't know if they were actually as good.
>>
Oh yeah, same Gamestop as the one where the dude gave me DA:O for free: got a steelbook copy of Mafia 2 on 360 for $2.50 a couple weeks ago.

I know it's an old game but I've never owned a steelbook before and this one is in really good shape so I was pretty pleased about the find.

I once thought I got a pack of Borderlands games free on xbone because of a pricing error, but I completely forgot about it and didn't bother to hook up my xbone. I was in EB Games a few years back and decided to look for Bayonetta, I started looking through the shelves and found nothing so figured I'd ask if they had it. The guy behind the counter said they did and he even came out and started helping me look for it.

In the end we couldn't find it at the front of the store so he went out the back and found it, was originally $15 but it didn't have the manual/case art or anything so he told me to wait a sec.

Turns out he went and asked the manager if it was alright to knock some off the price because of it and I ended up paying $5 for it.

I still haven't even finished it

When I first got started with PC gaming, I found a boxed copy of BioShock for $5, and then a boxed copy of Assassin's Creed for $5 on a separate occasion. I thought it was fucking great... and I guess it was pretty good, at the time. (This was years ago.) But it seems kind of silly after having lived through the best Steam sales and Humble bundles.

I've gotten so many games for dirt cheap over the years that I'm not sure what the best deal was anymore. Humble bundles have had some legit good-ass games in the $1 tier, on rare occasions.

A lot. Early 2000s worked at a vidya game store before retro prices went full retard. Best deals would be Earthbound for $10, later found a box and guide for free and got Snatcher for $5 because my retarded boss priced every Sega game cheap.
>>
>>381840223
Doesn't matter. In my state (and a lot of US states) it's the law that if you mismark a product you are legally required to sell that product to your customer at that price. M$, Sony, and Nintendo has never given a fuck about silly things like laws though

Bought Jazzpunk for 5.99

I've never actually laughed at a videogame before Jazzpunk. It's a simple, silly game filled with puns and subtle references. Where interaction with the environment is varied.

For example, in the starting area I found a door that when approached, my clenched fist came up. For shits and giggles I input the stereotyped knock of "Bap-ba-ba-bap-bap Dum-dum" And nothing happened. On returning to the game for a second time I found out that I missed the "Sidequest" in the game to smuggle a pigeon out of the level. After it was activated I was required to knock on the door with that specific knock, and found it great that I was correct in the beginning.

10/10 would recommend.
