A gaming PC that can play games like Battlefield 1, Witcher 3, etc etc are at least 800-1200 for 1080p at ultra settings.

$500 should get you a passable budget PC. Nothing to rave about, but it'll work. You're already on the first step by establishing your budget.

I spent 500 on my first pc back in 2014. It ran bf4 at high settings at 1080p 60fps

try get a second hand custom pc with at least an i5. i just upgraded from a gtx770. i want sell for £80 that would make a good gpu for a first time buyer. also an i5 clocked over 3ghz will deliver a good gaming machine before you even get a gpu

How about you save up longer instead of limiting yourself. A good rule to follow is "I can afford anything, but I can't afford everything". Save up longer and maybe skimp on some other wants that you can do without

The best computer I ever had, was one with i3-40050 only, and most recent console was PS2. I don't have huge expectations, just want to play some games that aren't from <2003

the 770 will play all them games nicely but prey you need need at least 4gb vram for prey otherwise sone stuff just wont get rendered

get a ryzen 1600 and pick up an older amd gpu when ethereum bubbles over and crashes

Save longer then. I get it, minimum wage sucks, I worked for $7.25 for like 3 years. When I wanted something expensive I saved up a little from each check for like a year. Sometimes I would not be able to save the amount I wanted because of expenses, other times I could save more. The reminder of what I was saving for kept me on track though. Consider getting second hand parts and then upgrading them later, if you refuse to wait for something better
