Diablo 2 is only a grinding simulator if you want it to be. You can get through the game with complete garbage if you want a challenge.

There is no appeal. Ys is a bad game and grinding is not fun.

I stay interested by having your mom suck me off as I play.

Takes a long time to reach a goal so it feels good when you reach it. Games without a grind are too easily conquered and give less satisfaction.

Something I like about D2 is that it really isn't THAT grindfest, compared to others games.

If you are lucky, you can find a good weapon or another gear wich is useful during 2-3 acts before find something better, even in early game.
