How is WoW fairing these days? Was watching an old G4 episode of Cheat that covered vanilla WoW (talking about thottbot and alahkazam and shit) and that wave of nostalgia hit me hard.

I try to keep up to date with the lore because I love the Warcraft universe, but it's become harder and harder imo. I heard that people are kind of bored with Legion, even though this is the second or third time Blizzard said "nah you won't be bored in this Xpac!"

Over a year after it came out, the top level guilds were beating their way through Naxx while plenty of people were leveling through Redridge together. And Draenei can be DK because Arthas didn't just stop resurecting niggas to be DKs when BC was released. What is the playerbase like? I remember jumping back in and starting a new character (w/ that free boost) during Mists, and it was not so good.

PvP was slower, and harder to queue for and the general mood of the server was shit. I remember back in Vanilla and BC your server was its own little world. You had the big bad guilds competing for raid progression, the troll guilds who made names for themselves by tolling and shit, and the reputations that specific players had. It was a blast. This last one was awesome, until you realized how much of a treadmill it was. They threw away all old content again and then made the new stuff really cool, but so interlinked you couldn't just focus one what you liked to do.

It was one big fetch circle of doing dailies to get pts to level a weapon to do dungeons to get tokens to do bigger dungeons to do quests to get gear to do more of the same dungeon and on and on in an endless horrible loop. The fucked part being that none of it was bad it was just such volume of bullshit.

And the game doesn't need that. There is a backlog of content and areas and art and exploration in that game that can keep a player busy forever even if they have played for years. But the only way to do that is alone so you need the new gear so welcome to the treadmill anyway.

It's not shilling you fuck, there are plenty of points you can shit on WoW or any MMO for. But citing the leveling experience to 20 is retarded because that's not something endemic to WoW. You aren't making an argument against WoW, you are arguing against modern MMOs and why things can't be like the way you remember them. An MMO with a 3 month grind to endgame can't release today and expect to succeed, it doesn't mean there aren't people who want it but it's not the same critical mass that made vanilla WoW successful because of ton of its players were new to MMOs.

Argus will probably end with Sarg being defeated by a combined effort of Naaru and our Titanic Keepers sacrificing themselves in a fuckhuge blast of holy goodness.

Everyone loved how pretty and unique Vashjr was, but the swimming shit was awful, so maybe it will be like a massive dome underwater created by an ally so we can traverse it, i'm guessing either the Earthen Ring, Neptulon, or a remaining Keeper, Maybe Ra since he's a mindfucked hermit and won't sacrifice himself to defeat Sargy, and is also the only one who knows the Titans died fighting him and thus thinks it doesn't matter, but will come out for N'zoth since he's fought the Old Gods before and has hope because Sargy was defeated after all.

Starting Tier could be.... Nozdormu maybe? Losing his shit and becoming Murozond, and we will once again have to team up with the remaining aspects and put him out of his misery even though we already did 3 expacs ago. Red dragon lady dies and thus all the OG aspects are six feet under. Kalec says "fuck this" and rallies all the flights into one superflight. Most of the bronzes followed their husbando into Infinity, but Chromie took a couple with her and weren't corrupted.

Middle tier might be a Scourge rehash. Bolvar is clearly looney from the DK storyline and is planning some shit.

N'zoth will be last boss, obviously.
He'll be way more "intelligent" than his bros, since he was described as the weakest but the most cunning. Will probably speak to you in riddles and shit.
There will be some asspull that he absorbed the forces from his "brother" old gods and is thus fucking stupid powerful since they were never really united before. He's gonna make one last push to corrupt Azeroth's soul. Will end with Azeroth waking up and becoming full Titan.

I thought Legion did a pretty good job in attempting to bring back the less-hurrdurr pre-LFG groups with the, uh, new challenge dungeons... whatever they were called. I played for about 3 months at launch as prot/holy pala and built up a pretty decent list of people to spam to do those with. It was like being back to the days where everybody wanted to friends list the tanks they found who weren't total retards. Tanking is a lot different now than it was back then, but at least for 5 man content the tank is by far the most important member of the party, but I digress.

Though they did drop the ball by completely fucking up the instance balancing, eventually reducing those groups into tedious 4-man parties that only spammed that stupid boat and the shortest night elf one. I hear they changed a lot of that stuff up lately, but like I said I quit after about 3 months so I don't really know how it is now. If they changed it for the better though the 5 man dungeon community, at least, should be better than it has been since before they introduced LFD. And that was always my favourite part of the game.

I still fucking hate how they turned all 5-man content into timed content though. It's not even really hard, it's just annoying. One guy making a small mistake over a 20 minute run can fuck you over completely. It's just a terrible environment that causes nothing but frustration and conflict between people.
