Again, doing well is not "just getting a win every hundred matches". Yes, there are opportunities for someone to win by being lucky, but not consistently. To win consistently you have to play well rather than try and rely on luck.

Look at players like Grimmz. He's a proactive, aggressive player. Being aggressive in a third person game typically puts you at a disadvantage, and being proactive can also lead to scenarios where circle variance will be more painful. He still does exceptionally well because he plays well.

There's aspects of luck to this game, but it's far from the core deciding factor. The only time I say luck is a 50% contributing factor is if you drop into a populated area and don't roll a gun. However, 50% of that would still be on you for choosing to drop an area you know will be populated, and accepted the risk that there is a possibility you'd get a pistol/no gun against other players.

Being aggressive is a valid tactic to win. Especially when people don't expect you to be aggressive, it takes them by suprise. You need the following things to win:

>know the map
>know how to position yourself
>know when to run/not to run/shoot/not to shoot
>circle luck

Aiming itself is a pretty small part of it. So it loot. You can win just fine with lvl 1/2 gear and a simple AR if you know how to play.

I'm not saying it isn't a valid tactic. I know because I employ that style of play myself (since camping around doing nothing is fucking boring to me). That said though, it does expose you more to the variance of the game than playing defensive. That's why shitters who are bad at positioning, map knowledge, and shooting play defensively. They don't possess the skills necessary to scrape by without relying on slot machining every aspect of the game, and so they get maybe one win every 100+ matches and are somehow satisfied.

Aiming is definitely important considering chest hits is a considerable amount more than headshot damage, even more so than pegging limbs. Definitely agree that level 3 gear is definitely not necessary. M16A4 is also probably my most proficient weapon in the game by a mile.
