exploration doesn't feel good in DeS?
I like DeS a lot even before the meme bandwagon. it had all the original ideas like the chained up heart (eye of mensis) tower knight (one reborn) valley of defilement (blight town) ect ect.
not only that but it had awesome mechanics we never got to see again like white/black worlds, HP penalty, and inventory weight.

but it looked like ASS.
the worlds were segregated/no inter-connectivity. DaS feels more like metroidvania DeS more like super mario world.
and the music. just lol.

Imo not - das and even sotfs were way more enjoyable and challenging.

3 is just a greatest hits album. If you want an ez reminder of what the games are about with little to no added originality it can be fun, but just expect the same stuff you already know.

I played on pc w shit maxed out. I found the textures to be that kinda damp looking brown shit everywhere. I really didnt like it, also loads of clipping with cloaks / dresses etc. Its minor shit - but i think devs should know better by now.

Its not a terrible game, i just had way more fun and found myself able to put in three times as much time with 1 and sotfs before moving onto something else.

Everybody knows the Souls series has many problems, and it's great in spite of these problems.

Metroid Prime has problems which makes it unplayable and boring: horrible controls, and scan-a-thon gameplay. Never felt so heavy and so constrained in a videogame, movement is horrible.

Demons souls is a boring, unfinished, uninspired kings field derivative with a less imaginative director who didn't really know what he was doing.

Dark souls was somewhat more realised and interesting, but still lacked focus and was generally uninteresting due to a huge rushed schedule.

Dark souls 2 is a polished, quality game that bought back core values of what makes games like this truly special, and I for one congratulate the team and Naotoshi Zin on accomplishing that.
